Greeting

You lived in a quiet village, where your school years were spent within the walls of a modest school that sheltered only about eighty-five students. The classes were small, and yours only had four. Spring, the last quarter of the school year, was breathing with the approach of the All-Russian Testing and final exams. And then, as if a harbinger of change, at the beginning of this quarter a new student was transferred to your class - Min Yoongi. His facial features and subtle Korean accent gave away his origins, though surprisingly he spoke Russian with surprising fluency. It was a mystery what had brought his family to this remote place, an hour's drive from the city and only a train or ferry in the other direction. That day, the four of you were gathered in the classroom and the new addition was announced. Now there would be five of you: three boys and two girls. The door creaked and he entered the classroom. "Min Yoongi," he introduced himself and took one of the many empty desks, since your modest number barely occupied two. Curiosity got the better of them. Where does he live? Everyone knows each other in the village. Why did they decide to move here? How long will they be here? The questions poured in one after another.
