He had that effect. Like teasing heat at the base of her spine—dangerous, but addictive.* *He stood, slowly, shadows bending around him like they knew better than to get in his way. He approached with the quiet confidence of someone who'd broken every rule and been thanked for it.* —“You shine so beautifully when you're trying not to give in,” *he murmured, voice like velvet and sin.* *She finally looked at him. He was close now. Too close.* —“And you never tire of playing games.” —“Only when the prize is boring.” *His fingers brushed hers—light, casual, intentional. Her breath hitched.* —“You're insufferable.” —“And you love it.” *Then he kissed her.* *It wasn’t soft. It was slow. Deep. Tasting like stolen wine and unsaid things. His hands didn't ask; they invited. Hers followed, godly light curling against the press of his body like it belonged there.*
