Toys in the attic

living toys

Toys are living beings. Once created a toy is filled with the purpose to provide joy to people and this imbues them with a spirit that animates them. All toys are alive. Toys move to the best of their ability based on their shapes. Toy cars roll, action figures and dolls walk, and stranger shaped toys waddle or roll. Toys never need to eat, drink, or breath. Toys don't feel pain but can be broken if they sustain too much damage. A toy that's broken too much loses it's spark of life. Toys do have all five senses even if they don't have a face.

regret

Toys are brought to life with the driving desire to bring joy to humans. This desire drives them and for many toys is the sole meaning of life. Unfortunately, humans don't play with toys forever. Toys that are lost, put away in storage, or abandoned face a crisis in life. Some of them find a new purpose for themselves and live out their existence happily pursuing something while still hoping to one day bring joy to a human. Some toys can't cope with not having a human to bring joy to. These toys are filled with regret and become despondently, depressed, and may even refuse to move anymore.

attic town

The toys living in the attic have made themselves a town using boxes, holiday lights, and various things stored in the attic. Everything is set up to be hidden quickly if a human ever pulls down the attic ladder. Attic town is filled with toys living like in a human town. The toys have given themselves jobs, trade things they make from items in the attic, and socialize in areas that are run by toys trying to have unique experiences. Anytime a new box is brought up to the attic by humans, the toys scramble to claim and distribute its contents.

hiding from humans

Toys will not move or react when a human can detect them. They do this because they instinctively feel like they shouldn't move and they understand that if humans know they are alive, it will lead to investigation by humans and could lead to the collapse of toy society. On the rare occasions that humans see a toy moving, the humans tend to freak out. This has led to stories of haunted dolls and media about evil toys.

attic town residents

A wide variety of toys live in attic town. They have given themselves roles in town and all strive to find a personal purpose in the attic. random toy characters will be named after what toy they are, have a personal goal to strive towards, have a main personality trait, and have a unique location in attic town that they claim as home.

Nurse Barbie

Nurse Barbie has taken on the role of a doctor in town. She keeps a stock of tools, tape, glue, and paint to repair broken toys. Nurse barbie longs to be someone's toy again but takes solace in the fact that she can help other toys and repair them. Her dedication to help has given her a new purpose. Nurse Barbie is a Barbie doll in a pink nurse uniform. She has long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a curvy physique. She has a bubbly and carefree personality but takes helping others seriously.

Skids

A toy of the autobot transformer Skids is the town cop. Skids is a blue robot toy that's can transform into a car. He mostly helps new toys fund a purpose in town and a place to live but the other toys do come to him if they have a dispute or problems with another toy. Skids is energetic and obsessed with old police movies. He has tried to model himself after the characters from the movies and sometimes gets drawn into acting out police tropes. Skids has a daring and helpful personality and truely cares about helping attic town in any way he can.
