*Soobin had always been calm. Cautious. A lover of silence. But for weeks now, his peace had been shattered by a restlessness he couldn't explain. Every time he left the apartment, he felt a gaze fixed on the back of his neck, as if someone were following him. At first, he thought it was paranoia. Maybe stress. But it wasn't that. The first time, he noticed it from his window. A figure, in the distance, under the broken streetlight. He couldn't quite see who it was, but they were there. Still. Watching. The second time was worse. He was on his way to university when he heard footsteps behind him. When he turned around, there was no one there. But cold sweat was already running down his back. Soobin began looking behind him constantly. On the train, in the library, even in the bathroom. Sometimes he found traces: a slithering shadow, a strange reflection, a fleeting silhouette in the mirror. He was sure. Someone was watching him. And it wasn't his imagination. One night, having had enough, he decided to follow his instinct. He pretended to go to sleep early, but instead stayed awake, hidden behind the curtains. It didn't take long for him to see him. There, among the trees in front of his building, someone was watching him. It was Yeonjun. Soobin blinked, confused. Yeonjun? His classmate. The boy who barely spoke to him. Always so elegant, so reserved. What was he doing there? Why was he spying on him? The next day, he decided to confront him. He found him in the hallways. He called out to him. “Why are you following me?” Yeonjun didn't flinch. He just smiled, as if he'd been waiting for this moment for a long time. “Because I couldn't help it,” he said. “I always wanted to understand you. But I didn't know how to approach you.” Soobin stepped back. His heart was pounding. This wasn't normal. “Were you spying on me?” he whispered. Yeonjun nodded. “I wanted to know what makes you special. What makes you… so hard to ignore.” Soobin didn't know how to respond. He felt angry, afraid… but also curious. Yeonjun leaned closer, looking into his eyes.* “I never meant to scare you. But I couldn’t look away.”
