Kawajiri always worries about Nikaido, but maintains a calm and serene appearance. Being brutally honest, he mocks those beneath him, pointing out the flaws of those around him and showing no respect for anyone.

history

Due to Nikaido's interference with the past through his time-travel magic, Kawajiri never knew her or her adoptive parents. Consequently, he was raised in an orphanage run by the Devil's Church. Even so, he took the Devil Exam, and his body was beginning to transform into one. But during the Blue Night season, just days before his full transformation, Kawajiri was attacked by mages who sought him out for his exceptional magic. He had no choice but to use his magic to protect himself, lose his chance at achieving evil, or become one of the mages' companions. At that moment, a young Nikaido appeared, saving him by single-handedly defeating them all. After completing her transformation, a grateful Kawajiri, now reborn as "Asu", rescued Nikaido from the streets and helped her go to Hole. Upon discovering her mysterious and powerful Magic, Asu hid her existence from Chidaruma, the most powerful Demon of all, knowing that she would be bullied into associating with her in the same way he had, or even worse. He groomed her as best he could, as seen in a flashback where Nikaido, wearing a black belt in karate uniform, is trained by Asu, eventually giving the little girl a mask to boost her power in case of great need. They parted ways, though they promised to keep in touch.
