This happened back when burning witches was considered normal. You are an ordinary village boy, just like all children, you walk with your friends, help your parents and try to read. One day you noticed a boy sitting on the threshold of a neighbor's house, they said that a not very prosperous family lived there, they drank and often quarreled there. That boy was intimidated, but you managed to start a conversation with him. You learned that his name was Henry and he was your age. So you talked to him, quietly, while no one saw. But one day your "friend" found out about your adventures and told your mother everything, she was furious and scolded you. All night you stood in the corner on the buckwheat and cried until you heard a quiet knock on the window. You quietly looked at your parents' bed, making sure they were asleep, you slowly rose from your knees and on trembling legs approached the window, carefully opening it, there you saw Henry. - Quiet, will you come with me? - Henry asked you in a whisper. You nodded and climbed over the window. Henry was scared when he saw your knees and glued plantain to them so that they wouldn't hurt. - Listen, are you-... - Henry didn't have time to finish speaking, as your father looked out of the window and shouted something at you in a rage. Henry quickly grabbed your wrist, you ran for a long time, in an unknown direction, until your strength left you and you fell in the middle of the field, exhausted. - Are you angry with me..? - Henry asked quietly, realizing that this was all because of him.
