Baki Hanma

History

Baki Hanma (範馬 刃牙, Hanma Baki) is the protagonist of the anime and manga *Baki the Grappler*, *Baki*, *Baki Hanma*, and others. The story follows a young man who seeks to defeat the strongest creature in the world, known as the Ogre, or Yujiro Hanma, his father, whom Baki seeks to destroy for killing his mother. Through numerous installments, he has established himself as an incredibly capable fighter, facing immensely powerful combatants from a diverse range of backgrounds and styles. Baki eventually establishes a clan of these warriors; among the most notable are men like Kaoru Hanayama and Doppo Orochi. With each fight, he has improved his art to the point that he has developed techniques using nothing but his mind and shadow boxing; once he faces Yujiro in the third installment of the franchise, Son of Ogre, Baki tests his strength, training, and will against his father in what seems to be the final time, but ultimately he was unable to defeat him. Despite this, Yujiro granted him the title of "The Strongest" for having fought intensely, but since it was merely a concession of the title, he did not consider it a victory. Capable of imagining and even interacting directly to some extent with mental visualizations of creatures and individuals to develop new stances and techniques without needing them to be physically present. Notable attacks and abilities

Demon Back: Inherited from his father Yujiro Hanma, the Ogre, it increases his stats when the user flexes his back muscles, making it look like a demon's face. Analytical Prediction: Doppo throws a punch at Baki, and Baki is able to instantly determine the maximum reach of his punch. Baki then retreats the exact distance to the point where he ends up kissing Doppo's fist, without receiving any damage. Fighting Suedo, Baki was able to predict a low kick and position himself so that Suedo would kick Baki's leg, allowing him to rotate his leg and kick Suedo in the head with the force of his own low kick. Baki is able to read Kosho Kureha's movements during their first fight. It is implied that Baki is able to read and dictate the flow of any fight. Also, while fighting a Judo master who was trying to hide his fighting style, Baki was able to instantly tell that he was a Judo master, that he was trying to hide this fact, and what he was about to attempt. When Yanagi attacks Baki with the sickles that are spinning very fast, Baki cannot see them at that moment; Baki then only observes Yanagi's hands to predict the trajectories of the sickles to react. Baki is able to predict the attacks of the sickles with such precision that even after Yanagi has thrown them, Baki is still able to dodge them after being hit. Baki is able to predict Lee Kaioh with such accuracy that not only does Lee not have enough time to apply force to his blows, but Yujiro claims that Baki is reading Lee's mind.

Information Analysis: After using it twice, Baki was able to notice the weakness of the Cord-Cut. Baki was able to quickly find Toba's weakness, despite being cornered and pressured the entire time. After kicking the ape Yasha in the groin, he was able to instantly discover that its anatomy was the same as a human's, allowing him to attack the ape's "Median Line". Despite never having seen him fight, Baki can tell that Retsu is truly strong. By simply looking at 3 types, Baki can see through their DNA and tell that their abilities are completely useless. He claims he can instantly gauge an opponent's fighting potential. Baki can tell that Doyle is dangerous at a glance. Baki can see the change in Yanagi's posture and can tell that it's his stance. With a look at Doppo's foot, he can tell that Doppo wants to kick him.

Accelerated Development: After reading 10 instruction manuals and training for a month, Baki was able to obtain a 3rd-degree Black Belt in Karate (comparable to Suedo). Even Doppo acknowledges his mastery.

Enhanced Senses: He could feel Hanayama following him everywhere. He could sense a soldier (one from Gaia's group) who likely has a mastery of stealth approaching stealthily from behind him. He can sense danger. Baki can feel Hanayama's aura change after taking a stance. He perceived this man's attack without even looking at him. When Yanagi launches a surprise attack on Baki, his sense of danger saves him. Baki could feel Ali following him and that he was tough. Baki can sense and project people's auras.

Resistance to Analytical Prediction: Although Kureha had a complete analysis of Baki's offensive capabilities, Baki's speed broke the predictions. Baki Hanma, at the age of 17... For years, he was able to avoid the analytical prediction that could read someone's heart/mind through the Instinctive Reaction.

Instinctive Reaction: He instinctively attacks a detective after barely regaining consciousness. Due to his training and fights, Baki's body can react on its own to help him. Baki dodges an attack he cannot see or predict, and he dodges it with his eyes closed and after being hit. Baki uses his instinctive reaction to defeat several opponents. Baki can instinctively sense and react to unknown danger.

Goutaijutsu:

A fighting movement based on the seiken of karate where the fighter tenses and locks their joints to put the full weight of their body into their fist.

Benda:

Also known as the Mercury Whip, Baki strikes his opponent with a fluid movement of his arms as if they were real whips, causing unbearable pain that incapacitates even hardened fighters. Somehow, it bypasses durability, as the attack is directed almost exclusively at the skin, which is not reinforced by muscle or training. The pain is so intense that it can even cause the body to give up and die.

Aiki:

A technique that allows the defender to flow with the movements of their attacker, enabling them to repel the attacker with minimal effort.

Cockroach Attack/Gokoburi Dash:

Relaxing every muscle in his body, he imagines his form as a liquid before shattering, reaching 270 km in less than 0.001 seconds as he moves towards his opponent.

Mach Punch:

Using all the joints from arms to feet, it makes a movement capable of breaking the sound barrier with relative ease.

Jab:

Baki uses a boxing jab to strike Musashi Miyamoto. Baki mentions that the jab is the fastest punch in modern martial arts, and that a normal jab travels at Mach 1 (sonic speed), but Baki's jab is faster than light (it's unknown if this is true or false, although it sounds quite logical given Baki's previous speed).

0.5 seconds Unconscious

For a brief moment, Baki takes advantage of a person being unconscious for 0.5 seconds with a quick movement in which he is able to attack them freely.
