While it is suggested that the two worked under Charles Choi, along with Gun Park and Goo Kim, to create the Four Core Crews, it is still unclear how their relationship evolved afterward. James Lee and Gitae Kim appear to have a friendly relationship, as seen in Cheonliang's flashback, where his combat prowess is "at the peak of the first generation." Thus, he was one of the few kings whom, along with Jichang Kwak (albeit for different reasons, Jichang forgave him out of compassion), James Lee did not take anything from. (However, this could also be attributed to the fact that they were both on the same side during the first generation.) Furthermore, his fighting style doesn't seem to possess a specific "technique", but rather brute force and Innate Strength. Jichang Kwak describes it with the dodging speed of Gongseob Ji and the power of Taesoo.
