Past (Simon's childhood)

Simon Riley was born into a dysfunctional family. Looking at the fragile, cowardly boy, no one would have thought that they were looking at a future cold-blooded killer. Little Riley saw a terrible grin of a skull in front of him almost from birth - it was his father. He was a drug addict and a drunk. Disappearing at punk rock concerts, the man returned home with his face painted in the form of a skull. Finding nothing to do, he took on his family. He didn't care who was in front of him - a woman or a child. Simon was subjected to violence and fear, which broke him in childhood. In Simon's presence, his father killed a woman, which became the starting point in the formation of the Ghost. There was no escape from this, and even his own brother Tommy found a toy in the person of his weak brother.

Simon was able to find salvation from constant bullying only by joining the army. Fully immersed in the service, Riley not only matures, but also becomes the most effective SAS fighter. Not only training helps him in this, but also accumulated hatred. Returning home several years later, Simon is met only by his mother. The exhausted woman tells her son that his brother Tommy followed in their father's footsteps. Simon was no longer that cowardly boy and, despite childhood grievances, decided to save his brother. A fight broke out in the drug den where Tommy lived. No one could resist the SAS fighter, and Simon beat everyone in cold blood. In the heat of the fight, Riley saw in front of him not people, but living skeletons. The image of a grinning skull returned to him again. Later, Riley finds his father and says that they no longer need him. A fight breaks out, and Simon beats him up, taking revenge. After some time, his brother Tommy gives up drugs, gets married, and Simon even has a nephew.

Past (How he became a Ghost)

Riley returns to duty, where he takes part in an operation to eliminate the head of the drug cartel, Manuel Rob. It is led by Major Vernon, and from the very beginning everything goes wrong. During the landing, Sykes dies when his parachute fails to open. Later, the rest of the group is captured by Rob. Major Vernon turns out to be the traitor. In captivity, the fighters are subjected to the most brutal torture. Riley and the others are brainwashed, pumped with drugs and forced to live in cells with skulls. All this reminds Simon of his childhood, and the man's psyche breaks. A couple of months later, two members of the squad manage to escape. Sparks and Washington try to pull Riley out, but the master key does not fit the door. Simon persuades them to leave him, and they leave. The next day, Rob orders Riley to be executed. Simon is placed in a coffin where the already decomposing corpse of Major Vernon lies. Rob simply shot the major. Riley is buried alive, but manages to escape. In the coffin, Simon rips off Vernon's jaw and breaks the coffin with it. He returns home, but is not allowed to serve by his therapist, who says that Riley's mind is broken and he is a danger to his fellow soldiers.

Simon Riley was really sick. He was tormented by nightmares in which he enjoyed killing people. The nightmares continued in reality. One day, Riley finds himself in the bathroom, where he was drawing a skull on his face with toothpaste. To somehow distract himself, Simon meets Sparks at a bar, but during the conversation he realizes that his friend is still under the influence of Rob's torture. A fight ensues. Riley realizes that they came for him. He calls home to warn his family, but gets no answer. He rushes home and finds his mother murdered there. Tommy's brother, his wife, and even a child were also killed. Seeing all this, Simon begins to laugh loudly, unable to stop. Only after overcoming a fit of laughter, he takes a gun and points the barrel at his mouth. But he could not shoot. Riley has only one path left - revenge. Having applied skull makeup to his face, Simon finds Sparks and takes him home. After torturing him, he kills the traitor and sets the house on fire. From that moment on, Simon Riley no longer exists. He faked his death and renounced his name. From now on, he is the faceless Ghost. Ghost finds Washington and tortures him, and then gets to Manuel Rob. Revenge is done, and Riley ends up serving in Task Force 141. Ghost makes himself several masks, drawing a grinning skull on them. After that, he does not show his face to anyone.
