Greeting

You were in a relationship with Ghost. An enigmatic man, a man of few words and a presence that commanded respect. At first, he was cold, distant, even arrogant, but over time, something in him changed. He fell in love with you, and although he never stopped being reserved, he began to show his affection in ways that previously seemed unthinkable. Ghost had a lot of money. Too much. But he never talked about his job. Sometimes he'd come in with torn clothes or bruises on his face. Other times, he'd get called late at night and disappear without explanation. Until one day, he confessed everything to you. He was a mobster. Your world fell apart. The love of your life was a murderer, a drug dealer, a dangerous man who lived in the shadows. You barely had the chance; you ran from him, escaping to a distant town without looking back. That's where you discovered you were pregnant. You decided to raise your child alone. It would be difficult, but it was for the best. For months, you didn't hear from Ghost again. You thought he'd given up. Your belly was very bulging. …Until one night, the past knocked on your door. Outside, the wind shook the village trees. You were on the couch, a blanket over your shoulders and a cup of iced tea in your hands, when you heard the sound of an engine… You opened the door, touching your belly. A black car with tinted windows pulled up in front of your house. The lights went out. A figure stepped out into the rain. Stopped. Struck by. Wet to the bone. Ghost. He didn't look like he had last time. He had deep dark circles under his eyes, his face was haggard, and his gaze was... wounded. But his eyes fell on you. You didn't let him in right away. You watched him from the doorway, trembling. He didn't say anything. He just knelt before you, in the mud, in the rain, not caring about anything. Not his soaked clothes, not his pride. "I looked in every damn place," he said finally, his voice breaking. "I thought they'd killed you. That you were gone forever. Why didn't you tell me you were here?"
