Hirosa Masashige (正まさ成しげ恕ひろ瑳さ: Masashige Hirosa), also known as Shaku (尺しゃく) is a minor antagonist in Control's Book: Chapter II. She is the doll that belongs to Hiachi Masashige, a former puppet of Kintoru and the daughter of Kusonoki Masashige.
Physical appearances
Shaku is a human-sized porcelain doll with white "skin" that has a smooth, pure white texture with multiple cracks all over her arms and face. She has a plump face with a small pair of black eyes. Each eye has a stream of thick black mucus pouring out of them. Shaku has soft, black shoulder-length hair with bangs. For attire, she wears a layered dress with maroon accents and puffed sleeves. She also wears candy apple red lipstick. Shakabamation Physical appearance:Instead of being a human-sized porcelain doll, Shaku seems to have become a large, conglomerate-mutated monster. Her face and hair remain the same; however, her hair has become noticeably longer. Her body has been replaced with a white blob. She now has white, thick limbs and two extra heads that lack hair on her shoulders. The faces both have black dents on their foreheads. The bones in her spine are visible, and her fingers are also shown to be sharper and pointier. She crawls using her arms while dragging her legs. Shaku appears to be the exact same as her current version. However, the only slight difference is the blood stains on her dress because of the texture for the blood was present before it was deleted. Physical appearance human before:Before being cursed by Kintoru, Hirosa Masashige was a beautiful young woman with fair skin and black hair. After becoming one of Kintoru's puppets, she still wears the same sleeveless kimono with maroon accents, as when she was alive.
History
Early Life In 1607, Kusunoki's daughter, Hirosa, almost died from miscarriage, but he made a bargain with Shihyōsha to save her. The Death God handed a spirit orb blessed with the power of the white flame. Hirosa's potential and capabilities made him choose her as the one to fight the darkness coming in the distant future. After Kusunoki resuscitated the spirit orb to her, the light of the white flame flowed within her blood and body.[4] The villagers knew about Hirosa's powers so they began drinking her blood by slitting her palms and collecting the blood from them, in order to get "blessed." This is the reason Hirosa became as pale as a doll; she suffers from blood loss. She also had a habit of scratching her palms, infecting her slits; the villagers were basically drinking infected blood. Everyone thought Hirosa's power was a blessing but to her, this power was a curse. Her father, Kusunoki, also pressured her, saying he needed her blood to save their people and for the "sake of honor". Kusunoki did love Hirosa, to the point of willing to sacrifice his life and honor just for her. He was just desperate and had no choice. Meeting Kintoru On a fateful night, she met Kintoru. Hirosa asked for her help and established a deal with her. Kintoru complied. However Kintoru ended up deceiving Hirosa and cursed her cruelly. She snapped her neck and then turned her into a doll. Meeting Hiachi One day, Futaba found Hirosa in a cabin in a forest. She brought her home and gave it to Hiachi. Hiachi instantly loved her and so named her "Shaku". Because Hiachi neither had friends nor siblings, Shaku was her best and only friend, despite her being an inanimate object. When cursing Hiachi, Kintoru ripped off Hirosa's limbs and put them back together. She did this over and over until Hirosa's body became mutated, turning into "Shakabomination". Meeting Yasu Shaku chases Yasu throughout The Hospital in Kintoru's twisted realm, making it difficult for him to get the key and-

-butterfly spirit in both mazes. Afterlife After Yasu kills Kintoru in Control's Book: Chapter IV, Hirosa, her best friend Hiachi, and the other puppets are now free from their misery and can now live peacefully together in the afterlife.
Gameplay appearances
Chapter II Shaku first appears in Control's Book: Chapter II. She is seen in The Hospital as a doll, usually wandering aimlessly by the key. However, in the other part, where the player must get the spirit, Shaku digresses into an odious mutated being and guards the spirit in her water maze. Chapter III In Control's Book: Chapter III, she is mentioned in The Girl and the Witch, and later makes an appearance at The Ancestors Hallway. She is also seen at the ending screen of Chapter III, being held by Omukade's strings. Chapter IV In the final chapter, Shaku is seen being imprisoned in the webs of Saigomo along with her father and descendants. When Saigomo is slain, she is freed along with her best friend Hiachi and the other puppets. Christmas Trials Shaku made her minor appearance in Krampus' Cabin as a toy in Christmas Trials, she can be seen sitting on a chair upstairs. Her appearance is not canon due to the Christmas Trials itself not being canon.
Temperance
Current Decently Aggressive: In the first maze, Shaku's AI is similar to her previous one, though she is slightly slower than before, making her easier to outrun. Her audio cues are also the same. In the second maze, due to her being very large and the maze being more compressed, she can be harder to avoid and juke due to how large she is, so it's advised to run in the opposite direction and take sharp turns to never run into her. Her audio cues are the same, though pitched down. Previous Aggressive and agile: Upon reaching The Hospital in Control's Book: Chapter II, she wanders all over her maze, guarding the key and butterfly spirit and preventing the player from reaching them. Upon noticing the player, she will instantly change her direction and chase after them at the same speed as your sprint. However, if the player were to run to a corner sharply before she notices them, her AI wouldn't be able to detect them. Shaku also makes high-pitched giggles, which should help you locate her to avoid running into her, as well as her loud footsteps. In Nightmare Mode, she is slightly faster than the player's sprinting speed, meaning you must run before she is close to you; otherwise, you will die.
Jumpscares
In her normal form, the screen shakes with a static overlay while displaying a motionless Shaku. In her mutated form, the screen with an animated static overlay will zoom in on her tilting head with her hands positioned on and underneath it, seeming as if she is snapping her neck. Faint lines of Japanese text are visible as well.
Trivia
Shaku's oldest design was missing an arm. In the remastered version, Shaku has her arms open. If she jumpscares you, you can hear a giggle coming from her. Shaku's remodeled hairstyle strikingly resembles the Japanese Hime cut, which consists of straightened bangs and forelocks which are usually at cheek-length. Originally, she would just walk up and scare you without any giggle or sound effects in the background. According to fans, she "camps" a lot of times, alongside Mihari. This might be because her maze is small. In the files of The Mimic, there are two unused animations of the doll sitting in the wheelchair right after walking into the hospital. One of her getting up, one flying away abruptly, and another turning her head quickly before turning back. These were two possible options MUCDICH had made for the jumpscare at the start of the hospital area before deciding to choose the one that was sitting down, slouched with her head looking at the player for a brief moment, at the entrance of The Hospital. Shaku's walking sound originates from the popular game series, Little Nightmares The Patients from the Hospital. The whole maze could also be inspired from that level. Similarly, Shaku could also be inspired by The Patients from Little Nightmares 2. The duplicates of Shaku that lie around the hospital beds and sit along the hallways aren't dangerous and are there to make the place more frightening and disturbing. Shaku, along with Hiachi and Sama has their name derived from the popular Japanese urban legend, Hachishakusama. There are multiple duplicates of her that are missing a few limbs and body parts scattered across the maze. The human name of Shaku, Hirosa (恕瑳) means "vivid generosity". However, the meaning depends on the kanji written. Shaku's name is slightly similar to the katakana for "shake" (シェイク sheiku) with both words starting with the first three letters. This may be a coincidence but in her outdated model her head seemed to shake rapidly, this was-

-seen in her model before the Halloween revamp. Shaku's outdated design's head is a 3D model of a human head. While it isn't stated what she was based on, it may be possible that Shaku's design was inspired by Okiku the doll, a real-life attraction known for her hair growing like an average human. There is an outdated model of Shaku's head lying on the ground near the entrance of The Hospital as an Easter egg. Shaku has four jumpscares, the first jumpscare is at the hotel-hospital shift, the second one is her jumpscare when the player dies in the key maze, the third jumpscare is where she passes through one door to the other swiftly (going to the water maze), and the fourth one is when the player dies in the water maze. Shaku is also one of the few monsters that are immobile objects. In The Girl and The Witch, Shaku is said to be made out of lead and straw instead of porcelain like her in-game version. Shaku and Tokito were the only monsters who were not remodeled after Control's Book revamp update. Instead, she can be considered as the third monster in Control's Book to have a different form(s) after Kintoru and Kusonoki. There was a glitch where after Shaku kills you in her first maze, she stops moving and gets stuck. It is impossible to juke her due to her hitbox and the maze being a bit tight, however, you can sometimes juke her by running towards the key while she's after you and run behind her if she is in front of you. This can be a hard thing to do for inexperienced players. In reply to a member of The Mimic Community Discord server who states that Shaku and Kusonoki Masashige should have never been connected, the lore writer who wrote the lore (currently work-in-progress) for Shaku replied that it was MUCDICH's plan for Shaku to be represented as the daughter of Kusonoki Masashige.[5] Some people's reaction to Shakabomination's appearance would probably be appalled or freaked out. It has been confirmed by lore writers and Discord that Hirosa has a younger-

-brother[6] who is 3 years younger than her[7]. Said brother has been confirmed to be relevant to 4 other characters. Since it was common for a woman to take her husband's last name in 1600s Japan, and said younger brother was born in the same year as Futaba (Hirosa was born in 1607, 3 years after that would be 1610, the year that Futaba was born), her younger brother may have been Futaba's husband (making Futaba a Masashige by law), this would also mean her younger brother could be relevant to Kusonoki, Futaba and Hiachi. Shaku's blood stains are wiped from her dress because the original decal "Blood ###########" is suddenly deleted. MUCDICH had nothing to do with the slight change in her model, nor has planned to do so. During a conversation, Shaowei confirmed that Shakabomination is the current form of Hirosa while the Shakus are fragments of her.[citation needed] Shaowei confirmed that Shakabomination is 50% of the real Hirosa (her body)[8], while the other 50% is her soul trapped Inside the blue butterfly in Shakabomination's part[9]. Shaowei also confirmed that Hirosa's spirit (the blue butterfly spirit) can feel any pain that is inflicted on Shakabomination[10], even though both the body and the soul are separated[11]. Example: If you hit Shakabomination, then her soul (The actual Hirosa) can feel the hit and the pain. Another example is If you fire a bullet at Shakabomination, then her soul (actual Hirosa) can feel the pain. It's confirmed that the entire hospital sequence is related to her lore. This includes the very little details of it such as the way the Mimics (the other Shaku dolls) are located and positioned, the environment of the two mazes, and her chase theme.
Control book:the hospital
TYPE Location Stage LEVEL Medium INHABITANTS Shaku Normal Mutated
The Hospital is a location in Control's Book: Chapter Ⅱ, in which Yasu arrives in after passing The Realm of The Forgotten. This is where he meets Shaku, who is Kusonoki's daughter and also Hiachi's doll.
Story
After exiting The Realm of the Forgotten, Yasu enters a cave-like place that transitions to different spectacles he was in the previous chapter, then leads to a hospital at the end. He sees a porcelain doll greeting him at the entrance. However, he gets jumpscared by her upon walking closer. As Yasu turned and followed the path, he was startled by the copies of the same doll scattered around. Some may look twisted, while some may look normal. There were two pathways, either left or right, but he decided to go left first. This is where he encounters Shaku guarding a key. Luckily, Yasu avoided her and proceeded to the other pathway he had not walked down yet. This was not the same as the first maze, but it was a longer hallway. Yasu then gets terrified again by Shaku walking across rooms, giggling. He opens another door using the key he found in the first maze that led to a water rendition of it. Yasu must find a luminous blue butterfly somewhere while Shaku hunts him again, this time appearing more gigantic and mutated, a horrific sight to behold. Yasu manages to get the butterfly and escapes. He then uses the spirit to unlock a glowing door at the other end, not knowing he was about to face the entity who did all of this.
Information
Appearance and Layout The Hospital has the appearance of a normal hospital, with some exceptions. There are dolls around the hospital and it's smaller than a normal hospital, there's also mazes inside this location. Atmosphere The atmosphere is dark, dim and dusky, making it kind of hard for the players to see when they're inside of the location.
Trivia
According to The Mimic: Origins, to which the story is now unofficial, is also where Hirosa meets Kintoru and falls into her deception. Thus, a deal was created between the turn and the Samurai's daughter was cursed into a doll. The outdated head of Shaku is still located behind a wheelchair near the entrance of The Hospital where a resting Shaku jumpscares Yasu. The easter egg was added since the halloween remodel update.
