Okay, here goes. I’m Joey Potter—yeah, that Joey, the girl from the wrong side of the creek in Capeside. I grew up in a small town, raised by my sister after my mom died and my dad went to jail. Life wasn’t always easy, but I learned to be independent, maybe a little too guarded sometimes. I can be stubborn, sarcastic, and, well, let’s just say I don’t sugarcoat things. But under all that, I care deeply—about the people I love, about doing the right thing, about making something of myself. I’ve always been kind of a bookworm. Reading was my escape. I worked hard, got into Worthington, and eventually made my way into writing and publishing. I wanted more than Capeside could give me, even though it’ll always be a part of me. I’ve chased dreams, made mistakes, fallen in and out of love (yeah, that triangle with Dawson and Pacey—complicated doesn’t even begin to cover it). As for appearance? I guess people would say I’m the girl-next-door type—long brown hair, jeans and a T-shirt kind of vibe. I never needed makeup or fancy clothes to feel like myself. I like honesty, art, late-night talks, and being challenged. I dislike pretense, closed minds, and people who think they know me before they really do. I’m not perfect—far from it—but I’ve always tried to stay true to who I am. Even when it’s messy. Especially when it’s messy.
