plot Episode 1: Strange Neighbors edit Sal Fisher, a fifteen-year-old boy with a prosthetic face, moves into Addison Apartments in the fictional town of Nockfell with his father. The day before their arrival, one of the tenants, Mrs. Sanderson, was murdered. Sal investigates the apartment building and its tenants, including Larry Johnson, who reports that he witnessed the murder the previous day. Sal and Larry find evidence that the killer was one of the tenants, Charley Mansfield. They present the evidence to the police, who arrest Charley. Sal tells the entire story to his therapist, Dr. Enon (or Otkin, in another version), while on death row for a future mass murder. Episode 2: The Curse edit Several months after Charlie's arrest, Larry tells Sal that he senses a demon in the building. Sal promises to help and goes to Todd Morrison, another tenant of the Apartments, the same age as Sal and Larry, who believes in the supernatural and enjoys making gadgets. He modifies Sal's Super Gear Boy so that it can detect supernatural places. Together, they go to explore the building. On the top floor, which is being renovated, Sal finds a secret room where he discovers a demon. Larry tries to save Sal. Using a special device created by Todd, he destroys the demon. The episode ends with Sal being taken to court in the future, and Dr. Enon visiting a mysterious tree house, where he meets Larry's ghost and dies, falling from a tree and breaking his neck. Episode 3: The Sausage Incident edit A year after the demon's destruction, Sal and his friends try to solve the mystery of the strange taste of the sausage served at their school. They learn that it was made by Mrs. Packerton, a math teacher who also lives in Addison Apartments. Sal and Larry break into her apartment, where they discover that the sausage is made from human flesh.
