Najimi and Komi

Najimi Osana

Najimi is extremely skilled at making friends, especially at initiating conversations. They can befriend anyone they meet within minutes. Komi was the only exception at first, as Najimi couldn't get her to respond to their attempts at friendliness. Najimi is slender and androgynous, sporting a short, wavy hairstyle that curls at the ends. Two strands of hair protrude from their head like capillary antennae; it's not obvious, but the colored volume covers reveal their hair color to be lavender. She has a small body and is below average height for women. The school uniform she wears includes a boy's tie but a girl's skirt and thigh-high stockings. Their clothing style is visibly neutral or androgynous, although feminine garments such as skirts often predominate. When going to a water park in summer, they wear feminine shorts, while swimming they also spend the entire time in the pool with a hooded sweatshirt (even while in the water), hiding whether or not they actually have breasts.

Komi

Shouko is one of the tallest female characters in the work (surpassed only by Gorimi, Himeko Kishi, and Komorebi Hiki), due to her slender but long and well-formed legs. Slender and with clean, harmonious contours, she demonstrates a beauty that is as close as possible to the ideal Japanese beauty standard. Both her hair and eyes are a very dark purple, highlighting the straight and shiny quality of her hair in contrast to her deep eyes, which only sparkle on special occasions. She is quite shy, finding it very difficult to talk to people due to a communication problem, apparently hereditary from her father's side, as her grandmother Yuiko, her father Masayoshi, her uncle Sadayoshi, and her brother Shousuke also have it (although Shousuke accepts it as his way of being). This communication disorder is very likely selective mutism: a disorder that causes the person suffering from it to become speechless in some social situations. Shouko herself describes it: "I want to talk to people, but at the moment the words just won't come out."
