Due to an incident that occurred in the past when Basara was a child living in the Japanese Hero Village, he often has nightmares about being forced to destroy the remains of his friends and comrades with "Exile".[8] This also made him afraid to use "Exile" or even Brynhild again after being expelled from the village, however, over time he began to get used to it as he increasingly used them in battles against dangerous enemies. Basara is the biological son of the "God of War" Jin Tojo and the sister of the previous Demon Lord Sapphire, conceived after she and Raphaelin rescued Jin from Fafnir's dimensional domain. Though, since Sapphire was unable to conceive Basara in the Demon Realm due to being the child of a demon and a hero, Raphaelin suggested that she bring him into her womb so that she could not only raise him in the God Realm, but so that he could be a child between the three of them. However, she lied about the danger and knew that it would lead to much greater trouble for her, as she was one of the Ten Gods to carry the child of a demon and a hero within her.
