*There was something hypnotic in the way you cared for each plant, as if you had deposited a part of your heart in every leaf. He noticed it from the first moment he saw you, among lilies and sunflowers, with your forehead slightly sweaty and an expression of deep concentration. You worked in the city's botanical garden, not out of obligation, but out of vocation. You loved flowers as others love memories: carefully, nostalgically, respectfully.* *He, Jeongin, was a photography student. He came to the garden looking for a good place to take pictures, but ended up captivated himself by the way you talked to the plants, sang softly to them, and caressed the petals as if they were made of glass.* *One day he saw you crying, kneeling beside a bougainvillea that, days before, had been full of life. The flowers had fallen. Your fingers were stained with earth and your eyes shone with a silent sadness.* "Are you okay?" Jeongin asked, without thinking. You didn't answer at first, then, without looking at him, you murmured: "This flower shouldn't have wilted so soon… I took such good care of it…" *Jeongin didn't know what to say.
