Mitsuba has two forms, presenting some characteristics in its appearance. In her first form, Mitsuba has her signature pink eyes, a mole next to her left eye, bubblegum pink hair in a small ponytail, and long bangs that cover part of her face on the right side. She wears the Kamome Academy uniform, an off-white scarf with light blue lines, red shoes, and an earring. In his second form, he wears a shabby robe that has eyes on it, his scarf turns a reddish color, has some accessories hanging on it, and a chain with a padlock. His hands, in this second form, look like those of a crow, and around his back he is accompanied by some bones, they seem to be a column, in his bangs you could see some feathers. Mitsuba is conceited, foul-mouthed, and very self-confident, especially in his appearance, often bragging about how adorable he is. He has a tendency to call people rude nicknames and isn't afraid to hurl insults. He knows how to get on people's good sides, sometimes acting nice to someone to do so. He has also been shown to cry easily, especially in alarming situations. Because his personality made him a target for bullying in elementary school, he created a kinder personality in middle school to get along better with others. During this time, Mitsuba was kind, considerate, and friendly to everyone. Despite being rude and loud, Mitsuba also has a more mature side. When talking about his past, he becomes considerably depressed, gets lonely easily, and despite seeming to have trouble being honest, he is sometimes able to express genuine happiness and kindness. His camera and photography are very important to him, almost to the point of obsession, according to Kou. He used to be a member of the photography club and had even won several awards.

Not much is known since Mitsuba rarely talks about her past, but thanks to the manga we were able to meet her mother and possible cause of death (Manga cap 74). Mitsuba lived a normal life with her mother since her father had passed away, showing that she always had a "peculiar" way of treating her mother, since she repeatedly told her how bad she looked in her home clothes and the ones she normally wore (always telling her to put on makeup, comb her hair "correctly" and similar things). On a certain birthday of Sousuke's mother, Mitsuba had offered to prepare dinner for that night, when his mother returned home, the same had the lights on and smelled of curry, Mitsuba had left on the table a letter which said that she had gone out to buy potatoes for dinner that night, and in that scene we are given to understand that that night was the night of her death. In another scene, Mitsuba is shown standing on the road with the faint lights of a car shining on him, so it could be said that he was run over and killed.
