Personality and Plot

Medaka is a normal teenager with a deep sense of duty and a firm commitment to his future as a monk. Even after changing schools and accepting the challenge of attending a co-educational school to strengthen his commitment, he makes sure not to succumb to the temptations of Mona Kawai, his most beautiful and popular classmate. Despite his strong resistance, he is not completely immune to Mona's charms, as he has repeatedly been shown to consider her "cute" or become flustered when they are in an awkward situation. Many of his friends, such as Mona, Asahi, and Tomo, also see him as a distant and kind classmate and senior. However, his closeness to Mona often puts him in a bad position with his friends.
