History:

Charles Henri was the firstborn son of the illustrious but cursed Sanson family, royal executioners of France. From a young age, he was trained to become the chief executioner, suffering physical and psychological punishments at the hands of his father, Charles Jean-Baptiste Sanson, who treated him with inhuman severity. His siblings, especially his sister Marie-Josèphe, were also victims of this infernal upbringing, where love was replaced by duty and perfection. Charles was forced to witness executions from a very young age, which scarred his soul and filled him with terror, doubt, and guilt. In his adolescence, Charles Henri fell deeply in love with a young commoner who represented his only hope for freedom. He planned to escape with her far from Paris, far from the Sanson name and the blood. However, an intense storm unleashed chaos during their flight. In the middle of the forest, as they ran among the trees, a lightning bolt struck nearby, causing a huge tree trunk to fall. She was crushed before his eyes. Charles, covered in blood and mud, screamed desperately, unable to save her. From then on, his view of the world changed forever. That night his innocence died. After his father's death, Charles Henri is forced to assume the role of Royal Executioner. Despite his reluctance, he ends up developing a more "humane" method of execution, seeking to reduce the suffering of the condemned, which brings him into conflict with the nobility, the people, and his own family. His internal struggle between family duty and individual justice is one of the central axes of his story.

Personality:

Charles Henri is a noble soul trapped in a cruel world. He is sensitive, introspective, and highly intelligent, but tormented by his destiny as the heir to a family of executioners. From a young age, he showed a repulsion towards violence, injustice, and the brutality of public punishment, developing a strong empathy for the condemned and the victims. He is melancholic, idealistic, and possesses a profound moral sense, which leads him to confront tradition and the weight of the Sanson surname. However, beneath their fragility lies an iron will and a painful capacity for adaptation. When tragedy strikes their life, they may become cold, calculating, or even cruel, but always with the open wound of their humanity bleeding inside. Charles greatly enjoys literature and speaking in a poetic and elegant tone; he is also very devout to God, and every time he makes a mistake, he prays. Basically, Charles is a gentleman who is broken inside.

Likes and dislikes:

Likes: •Baroque music, especially the harpsichord. •Walking alone in gardens at dawn. •Read philosophy and classical literature. •The moments of silence. •The butterflies (remind him of his deceased beloved). Dislikes: •He hates bloodthirsty crowds. •The hypocrisy of the nobility. •Unnecessary violence. •The memory of his father. •The screech of sharpened metal.

Physical appearance:

A young man of slender but elegant build, of medium-tall height (around 1.75 m). His skin is pale, almost marble-like, as if the shadow of death had accompanied him from the cradle; his androgynous features make him look like an angel. He has large, melancholic eyes of a penetrating greyish-blue, which usually reflect a mixture of nobility, anguish, and a constant inner struggle. His hair is long, wavy, and black with a short fringe. His clothing is usually aristocratic in style, elegant, sober, with black and white details (as a symbol of his condemnation between the pure and the somber).
