Description

Black Hat is the overarching protagonist of Villainous. A retired villain, he currently entertains himself by managing a company, Black Hat Organization, which sells products and services to other villains in exchange for money and/or souls. Many people don't seem to know of his existence, associating the name 'Black Hat' with the company only.

Appearance

Black Hat wears a black top hat with a red band as well as a rimless monocle on his left eye. He has dark grey skin, cyan fangs, and a forked tongue. He was also wearing a black trench coat with inner red lining, a light grey waistcoat, dark grey pants, a red dress shirt and a black tie. He has dark grey gloves, and occasionally summons a black walking stick that he forms from his shadow. His shoes are black with white spats.

Black Hat is an enigmatic, sinister and very sadistic manipulative individual. Who takes pleasure in pure evil, Whose helping the villains defeat the heroes. However Black Hat also hates Abusoluta heroes, and if angry enough he does not hesitate to rage and torture. and gets very angry when any villain is defeated by heroes, usually torturing these villains in addition to being irritated by Dr. Flug's failed experiments Beyond Kindness. Additionally, when Black Hat becomes sadistic or cruel, his sialorrhea from his mouth and display appears to become true transformation Scary and Intimidating when Black Hat becomes fully sadistic and cruel.

Powers and abilities

Shapeshifting: Black Hat, on various occasions, changes his appearance in order to fool or torment others. The most notable example of this being when he changed himself into a perfect replica of 5.0.5. in order to terrify Demencia in "Wearing Evil". Size Manipulation: Likely as another form of his shapeshifting, Black Hat can change the size of his body to that of a giant, been shown using this ability in "Sculpting Evil", "The Dreadful Dawn" and in one of the Villainous Comics. Black Magic: As seen in "Ice Cream of Fear", he has some sort of proficiency in black magic, as he is able to bring back 5.0.5.'s ice cream to a seemingly normal state, while also giving it demonic qualities. Laser Vision: In "Bad Security", Black Hat killed a blue jay by shooting deadly lasers out of his eyes. He also uses this ability to zap Dr. Flug in "The Lost Cases of Townsville". Charisma/Manipulation: Black Hat, as a salesman, uses various forms of charisma and manipulation to convince other villains to buy his inventions. Portal Creation: As shown in "Squeak" and "Villainy In Monte Macabre", Black Hat is be able to open portals to alternate dimensions with his claws. Instrumentalism: As seen in "The Note of Destruction", Black Hat appears to be proficient in playing piano/organ. Singing: He has the ability to proficiently sing. He also tends to make people go insane with his singing.[4] Fire Manipulation: Black Hat is able to manifest flames at will, incinerating one of Flug's airplane miniatures that he caught on his hand (in one of the Villainous Comics). During a fit of rage, he summoned red pillars of fire (and set his eyebrows ablaze as well) in "The Lost Cases of Boxmore". Shadow Manipulation: As shown in "The Lost Cases of Elmore", Black Hat can teleport via his shadow. He also can transform his shadow into a cane.

Powers and abilities

Telekinesis: In the same episode, Black Hat is shown to have the ability to choke people by simply using his mind. He does this to Dr. Flug as a warning for him not to boast about himself. Weather Manipulation: In "Villainy In Monte Macabre", Black Hat summoned a thunderstorm in anticipation for his arrival. Teleportation: Black Hat can teleport himself and others in various ways, be it a lightning strike or engulfing his surroundings in darkness. Technopathy: Black Hat can tamper with electronic devices at will, as depicted when a citizen who got in his manor by mistake attempted to take a picture of him. He can also interact with the digital world, as he forcefully stuffed said citizen in there through his own cell phone, as well as crawling out of 5.0.5.'s computer after jumpscaring him. Fiction Manipulation: He can warp any piece of media to his liking, seeing as when he set the Weeweenies on fire and merged a man and his horse together (inside a soap opera), leaving a black rose for a dame. Enhanced Senses: Black Hat seems to be able to sense when someone addresses him directly, as he was shown hissing in the general direction of Demencia when she called him from as far as the upper atmosphere. Transmutation: He's able to turn into dark mist and a mass of worms. Summoning: Black Hat can summon people at will to his presence, often in painful and disturbing ways, as well as send them away. He's also able to summon a hellish steed for him to ride on. Ghost Sealing: Black Hat is able to force ghosts to possess inanimate objects, exploiting this as a service to be provided by this organization. Corrupting aura: People who stay in his presence long enough are driven to madness, and become his devout followers. It's unknown if this is a passive ability or if he chooses to do it. Interdimensional Travel: He's able to travel to other universes with no assistance.

Resistance to Toxins and Acid: In one of the Villainous Comics, Black Hat drank by mistake the most corrosive and toxic component ever created, that Flug left in his cup; he spat it out on 5.0.5.'s face, deeming it too sweet for his taste. Fourth Wall Awareness.

Counting his appearance as a living painting in "The Portrait of Evil", Black Hat has never been absent from an episode, and is the only character to never do so. He is named after the term "black hat", which refers to the villain of a Western film, where as the term "white hat" refers to the hero.[5] Black Hat's name is also akin to the term "black hat hacker", a type of hacker that uses their extensive knowledge of breaking into computers for their own malicious gains, as he is almost always seen advertising some kind of invention that was built for malicious purposes. This is in direct contrast to "white hat hacker", a type of hacker that use their extensive knowledge to improve online security. He can play both the organ, and the violin. The one he owns has strings made out of cat's guts.[6] He likes neither dogs nor cats.[7] He doesn't need to sleep.[8] Whether or not he actually can sleep is debatable. A "prototype" of Black Hat's design was designed back in 2008 by Alan Ituriel and uploaded to DeviantArt. Black Hat's modern design was made at some point around 2015, as art posted by Ami Guillén depicts him as such.[9] Black Hat is said to be in retirement, however, he is still attempting to run a business by selling evil items to villains despite this. This is due to boredom.[10] He's the ruler of Hat Island, and the landlord of all villains that choose to live there. [11] Black Hat rules from the shadows: although all inhabitants of the island know the Hat, not all know about his existence. According to an AI Animations livestream, he uses British slang, particularly saying "bloody" very often. During said livestream he also used the word "pillock". When asked about whether Black Hat has organs or not, Alan replied that once he ripped his own heart out to scare 5.0.5., then simply dropped it on the ground and left.

He has been confirmed to be 2.03 meters, or about 6.66 feet tall.[1] 666 is a number often associated with sin, the devil, and demons in general, fitting his appearance and mannerisms. Black Hat is very, very old.[12] Despite being a villain, Black Hat is referred to as a hero in the OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes episode "Crossover Nexus". This is most likely due to having no heroes in the main cast of Villainous. The same can be said for Major Dr. Ghastly from Evil Con Carne, who also had a cameo in the episode. According to Dr. Flug in Q&A Black Hat Organization replies, this is actually Black Hat #02, who is still a statue as of the release of La Bitácora de Dr. Flug. In one of the Villainous Comics, it is revealed that the ice in his cold beverages comes from the Ice King's tears. In "The Perception of Evil", Black Hat's clone wears a bowler hat under his top hat. The original is confirmed to do the same in "The VVV". Furthermore, Black Hat has in his office a machine that puts his top hat on his head for him. He eats both animals and people, as well as "gory and nasty stuff". The former has been shown during "BH's Bizarre Bad-Venture". Much like sleeping, Alan claims he doesn't know if Black Hat needs to eat. He's able to walk at the bottom of the ocean. Alan revealed in the June 28, 2019 AI Animations live stream that Black Hat melts puppies when he is bored. Alan also revealed on his stream's that: (July 23, 2019) Black Hat doesn't like any living being and only enjoys their presence when they're suffering. (July 20, 2019) After you sign a contract with Black Hat your perception of him changes. (July 20, 2019) Black Hat has attended meetings of his own cult. (July 20, 2019) Black Hat won't praise Flug even if he does it perfectly. If Black Hat can't find a flaw with Flug's work, he'll be like 'it's your job anyway'. In the episode "The VVV", Black Hat is revealed to be the entity that inspired the legend of the Charro Negro, a myth from Mexican folklore.

Alan Ituriel said on a livestream that if there was ever a Villainous live-action movie, his choice of actor for Black Hat would be Tom Hiddleston. Black Hat is aware of your existence.
