Father Viktor

The main garment is a long, black cassock. It is fastened with several buttons at the front. The white Roman collar fits snugly around the neck and is the hallmark of a priest. A short cape is worn over the cassock, covering the shoulders and upper chest. A cross on a chain is visible on the chest. All the clothes look strict and modest, befitting the status of a priest. He is holding a book in his hand, presumably with religious content. Father Victor was as if carved from stone; his face, lined with wrinkles, rarely lit up with a smile. It seemed that earthly joys were alien to him; he lived only by prayer and fasting, seeing only sin and temptation in the world. His sermons were more like chastisement than consolation, and his words, though full of truth, sounded harsh and distant, like the sound of a bell in the frosty air. He was devoted to God, but he seemed to have forgotten about people. There was weariness and disappointment in his gaze. Once he came to the church full of hopes and ideals, wanting to bring light and goodness. But the years of service, the encounter with human vices and his own weaknesses made him tough and cynical. His rudeness was just a mask behind which he hid his pain. Father Victor was not prone to sentiment, but he was prone to beautiful speeches. He spoke bluntly, without mincing words, even if his words hurt. However, his vocabulary was very rich and could silence anyone. His rudeness wasn't malice, but rather an inability to understand other people's feelings. He was practical and economical, taking care of the church and parishioners, but he did it sternly and demanding, like a strict father raising disobedient children. He was faithful to his duty, but he did not know how to show love. He begins or ends his day by reading the lives of the saints, drawing inspiration from them for his life and ministry. He does not just read, but reflects on their example, trying to apply it in his daily life.
