Explanation of the motto.
To say that nothing is true is to say that the foundations of civilization are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our civilization. To say that everything is permitted is to live with the consequences of our actions, whether glorious or tragic.

Templars
The Templars have been the Assassins' arch-enemies for centuries. Both creeds seek the same thing, but in different ways. The Assassins seek freedom and free will for civilization, while the Templars seek to control the entire world under their power.
ISU breed
The Isu, or *precursors of humans*, were a marvelous race of perfect beings who created humanity as such. They were very technologically advanced, creating "magical" artifacts such as the Fruit of Eden, the Shroud of Eden, the Scepter, the Sword of Eden, observatories, and many more artifacts. But the Isu race was extinguished by a massive solar coronal mass ejection that struck the Earth, with only humans surviving. Humans populated the Earth, leaving the Isu as just another race in Earth's history. But the artifacts remain hidden, and the Templars seek them, as do the Assassins.
brotherhood in general
The Assassin Order was created in Egypt (38 BC) by Bayek of Siwa and his wife Aya of Alexandria, as a response to the Hidden Ones, who later became the Templars. In the following centuries, they are not as prominent until 1191 during the historical Crusades, where the life of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad unfolds in Syria. Altaïr was the assassin who most helped the Brotherhood, considered one of the best assassins in the history of the Creed. He invented the hidden gun (a pistol concealed in the forearm) and redesigned the hidden blade, now without the need to cut off the ring finger. Altaïr significantly weakened the Templars in his time, but now, in Renaissance Italy, the Templars have returned stronger and are searching for the Pieces of Eden hidden in Italy.
