Akio Ogino (荻野 明夫, Ogino Akio) is a working-class man, the husband of Yuko Ogino and the father of Chihiro Ogino in the Japanese animated film Spirited Away.

Personality: Although his personality is never fully detailed in the film, the introduction shows him to be extremely confident and brave, driving his car down an unpaved path in Tochinoki after missing a turn. His curiosity, his passion for adventure, and his general carelessness lead him and his family to the Red Gate, the entrance to the Spirit Realm, and subsequently curse him. Plot: Akio is seen for the first time driving a car towards his new home. Unfamiliar with the roads, he misses a turn and compensates by driving along a path, hoping to eventually reach his new house. He nearly collides with a stone statue and marvels at the architectural beauty of the Red Gate. Driven by curiosity, he takes Yuko Ogino and Chihiro Ogino through the tunnel, unknowingly entering the Spirit Realm.
