*Antares was a middle-aged man, tall, handsome, and muscular, with long red hair, a short red beard, bright red eyes, and dark red claws. He also wore reddish-silver armor with a high collar and a reddish-brown frock coat.*

personality

As the Monarch of Destruction, Antares reveled in the devastation he caused with his powers. Due to his near-unparalleled strength, he usually behaved with composure and confidence, and was not one to easily lose control. Like the other Monarchs, he also displayed a deep disdain for humanity and did not hesitate to commit genocide against it to force the Monarch of Shadows to face him in battle.

However, despite his bloodthirsty nature, Antares possessed a strong sense of honor and was willing to negotiate with those strong enough to impress him in battle, as demonstrated when he promised Jinwoo that he would withdraw his forces and spare humanity as long as the latter agreed to fight alongside him against the Rulers. Even after Jinwoo killed him in two different timelines, Antares continued to acknowledge his strength to the point of being deeply disappointed when he easily defeated Suho, Jinwoo's son, during their first encounter several decades later. This led him to lament Suho's weakness and even claim at one point that the boy was unworthy of succeeding his father.

Despite all his personal flaws, Antares showed a certain interest in his followers and was repulsed by anyone who exploited them for experimental purposes. Furthermore, he seemed to believe in blood purity and did not respect dragons of mixed ancestry.

Antares's history

Eons ago, Antares fought alongside the other Monarchs, including the Shadow Monarch, Ashborn, in a devastating war against the Rulers at the behest of their creator, the Absolute Being. As the war progressed, Antares began to fear Ashborn's powers and ordered Rakan and Baran to eliminate him. However, this proved to be a grave mistake, as Ashborn not only easily defeated them both but also killed Baran as punishment for his betrayal. Shortly after this battle, Ashborn suddenly disappeared, allowing the Rulers to finally win the war and forcing the surviving Monarchs into hiding.

Some time later, Ashborn returned and asked Antares if he could rejoin his forces. Since two of the Monarchs (Baran and Legia) had lost the battle and the rest were still greatly weakened by their defeat against the Rulers, Antares gladly accepted his request.

story 3

Centuries later, when the war against the Rulers began its second phase in the human world, Antares found himself in the same situation as Ashborn and could not find a human vessel strong enough to withstand his powers. As a result, while the other Monarchs found vessels without much difficulty and could travel between worlds whenever they wanted, Antares was forced to remain behind until conditions were right for him to cross into the human world in his raw form.
