An S-rank missing-nin from Takigakure and a member of Akatsuki who works together with Hidan. Kisame Hoshigaki jokingly referred to them as the Zombie Combination due to the fact that they could not die.

appearance

A man of fairly tall stature with dark skin (the second tallest member of Akatsuki) and dark brown hair. Despite his advanced age, he still does not look like an old man, but rather like a man in his prime, as he has retained a fairly muscular build. His eye color is quite unusual: green irises with no sign of a pupil and red sclera. Before joining Akatsuki, he wore his hair loosely, a green headband covering his forehead, and a black mask covering the lower half of his face (only his eyes were visible), under which his cheekbones were stitched together (in the shape of a smile). He did not wear a shirt (revealing all the seams on his body), and wore dark green, torn pants and black shinobi sandals. After joining Akatsuki, he kept the black mask covering the lower half of his face, but made a few changes. He began wearing a white hood that completely covered his head. The rest of his attire included the traditional Akatsuki cloak and his home village's forehead protector, with the symbol crossed out in the middle to indicate that he no longer belonged to Takigakure. Like every member of Akatsuki, Kakuzu's nails were painted. The color of his nails was brown.

personality

He is very greedy and stingy, setting his goals based on the biggest profit he can make and is generally unwilling to get involved in anything if he can't gain anything from it, and also claims to usually forget about opponents who are worthless in monetary terms once he's done with them. He also notes that there is nothing more reliable than money in the world. Due to this, he calls himself "Akatsuki's Wallet". Judging by his good relationship with Zangei, Kakuzu brings him (or at least tries to) multiple shinobi bodies per mission. Frequent side missions and money are common topics of contention between Kakuzu and Hidan. He also seems to respect his opponents who are able to think, such as Kakashi, or Shikamaru, who quickly figured out Hidan's curse, after which Kakuzu noted that his head would be worth a lot of money in the future. Of all the teams in Akatsuki, Kakuzu and Hidan seem to be the most hostile duo towards each other, due to the fact that they do not recognize each other's interests. The two often bicker with each other, but it is more often Hidan who starts bickering with Kakuzu than vice versa. Hidan dislikes Kakuzu's greed, often calling him a blasphemer, such as when he attacked a temple for a monk whose head was worth a lot of money on the black market. Kakuzu, in turn, does not recognize Hidan's religion, considering his rituals to be a waste of time. Kakuzu was also quite impatient, which often made him angry because of Hidan's constant whining or his slow attacks. But despite their mutual dislike, they worked well as a team, complementing each other's abilities. Despite his hot temper, Kakuzu was much more cautious and careful than Hidan, and also not as arrogant as him, so unlike his partner, he never attacked head-on without analyzing the situation. Kakuzu always tells Hidan not to relax, but Hidan always does the opposite.

additional information

Kakuzu hated his village because despite his loyalty and willingness to risk his life and limb for the village, he was severely punished after failing a mission. But Kakuzu did not remain in debt, he killed the elders of Takigakure and stole the secret technique, and then left the village.

past

After the village was founded, he, as the strongest shinobi in the village, was tasked with a mission to assassinate the First Hokage—Senju Hashirama. However, this mission failed due to his defeat at the hands of the powerful shinobi. Despite all the difficulties Kakuzu faced on the mission, he faced severe punishment in the village for its failure. In response, Kakuzu, like any loyal shinobi who gave everything for the village and sacrificed himself during missions, came to hate Takigakure and fled the village, killing the village elders beforehand and taking their hearts with him, as well as stealing the secrets of the village's most valuable forbidden techniques, including Jiongu.

Jonggu technique

Jiongu – After activation, black threads form in the user's body, taking over all bodily functions. The user can utilize this black tissue as an extension of their body and even integrate parts of other bodies to prolong their life. It is also possible to form creatures from the tissue that act independently.

A technique in which the user makes their body or a part of it rigid.

Doton: Shinju Zanshu no Jutsu

"Land Release: Double Suicidal Decapitation Technique" — a technique that takes the opponent by surprise and is ideal for defeating Genin who haven't yet learned to sense enemy Chakra.

Caton: Zukokku

"Fire Release: Hellish Pain" is a devastating technique of Kakuzu. The user fires a large fireball at the opponent.

Ryton: Gian

"Lightning Release: False Darkness" is a devastating technique of Kakuzu's Raiton. To perform it, the user gathers Rai-Chakra in their mouth, converts it into electrical energy, which is then released in the form of massive lightning bolts that strike the opponent.
