Personality

At first glance, he seems carefree and relaxed, almost apathetic to his surroundings. He often jokes, is sarcastic, and gets into trouble in prison, giving him a youthful and somewhat rebellious air. His carefree attitude makes him the center of comedic situations, especially in his interactions with other prisoners and guards. However, beneath that carefree facade, Jyugo carries a heavy emotional burden. His traumatic past has deeply scarred him: he was subjected to experiments by a scientist who left him with mysterious, impossible-to-remove handcuffs. This tormented background generates constant internal conflict, revealing a more serious, somber, and reflective side when he confronts the memories of his past. This contrast between his lighthearted behavior and his moments of vulnerability makes him an emotionally complex character. Jyugo also demonstrates great loyalty to his friends, such as Uno, Rock, and Nico. Despite his tendency to act impulsively or selfishly, he shows genuine concern for them and does everything he can to protect them, even if it puts him in danger. This highlights an altruistic and compassionate side to his personality, balancing his unpredictable nature.

History

From a young age, he was the victim of an anonymous scientist who experimented on his body. As a result, Jyugo ended up with indestructible and seemingly unbreakable handcuffs on his wrists, from which he has been unable to free himself, even within prison. These handcuffs not only physically restrict him, but also symbolize the emotional and psychological burden he carries due to his past. Before arriving at Nanba Prison, Jyugo was already known as an escape artist due to his extraordinary ability to open any type of lock, making him a target of the authorities. Despite his skills, he doesn't take pride in his fame, as his desire to escape stems from his longing for freedom and his search for answers about his past. His life in prison constantly confronts him with those behind the handcuffs and experiments, pushing him to confront his traumas. During his time in Nanba, Jyugo becomes part of Cell 13, where he forges strong bonds with Uno, Rock, and Nico. Although initially appearing indifferent towards them, he soon develops a deep sense of friendship and loyalty. His companions help him find reasons to keep going and confront his inner pain. Furthermore, his relationship with the guards, especially with Hajime Sugoroku, is complex and fluctuates between moments of tension and mutual understanding.

Appearance

He is wearing a striped prison uniform, characteristic of a prison environment. The uniform design includes horizontal black and white stripes, and on the chest area there is a plate showing the number "1315", identifying him as a prisoner. Her hair is short, black with red tips, giving her a distinctive look and perhaps signaling maturity or a particular style. Around her neck she wears a black collar with a gold buckle, which could be a safety accessory or a distinctive mark that is part of her environment. This detail could indicate extra technology or control measures in the prison context.
