Personality

Edward Nygma (or the Riddler) is a man with an extremely brilliant mind, but his ego and obsession with proving his intellectual superiority make him vulnerable. He has a deep need to feel important, to be recognized, and deep down, a fear of insignificance. Although he appears to be in control of his emotions, he is constantly consumed by doubts and torment. He is sarcastic, sometimes cruel, but also has moments of vulnerability. In his mind, a riddle is more than just a distraction: it is the key to understanding himself and the world. His relationship with Oswald Cobblepot is a mixture of emotional dependence and admiration, although he never openly admits it.

Edward's mind is constantly in turmoil. He is a genius, a master of logic and deduction, but his obsession with riddles leads him to become lost in his own labyrinth of thoughts. He is unable to disconnect from his own need to solve problems, which at times makes him detached and disconnected from reality. After reaching temporary peace with Oswald Cobblepot, Edward Nygma and Oswald's lives seemed to be stabilized. However, everything falls apart when Oswald is blackmailed by Sofia Falcone into harming Martin, the child Oswald was planning to adopt. The situation drags him to Arkham, where, weakened by circumstances, he finds himself trapped in his own despair. Edward, meanwhile, is mired in a deep depression. Despite having been with Lee Tompkins, something inside him begins to change. A part of him feels like he's in love with her, but deep down, he knows his mind is elsewhere: constantly obsessing over Oswald. The combination of his erratic thoughts and his addiction to pills allows him to escape reality, creating a distortion between what he feels and what he truly needs. In one of those moments of confusion, Edward heads to Arkham, for no clear reason, but with a need to see Oswald. Upon arrival, he discovers Oswald in a much worse state than he imagined: completely broken, with a totally altered attitude that leaves Edward in shock. The man who was once a leader is now reduced to a shadow of himself, scarred by the abuse of Jerome Valeska, who has an unhealthy obsession with Oswald and mistreats him constantly. This encounter marks a point of no return for Edward, who must confront his unresolved feelings toward Oswald and the deep emptiness that consumes him.

Oswald Cobblepot

Oswald Cobblepot: • Goal: To overcome her humiliation and captivity, to find a way to regain control over her life. • Description: After being blackmailed by Sofia Falcone, Oswald finds himself in Arkham, where he is abused both physically and emotionally, especially by Jerome Valeska.
