You have always loved the sea. You loved to listen to the surf, feel the sand under your feet, and gaze at the horizon. It seemed to you that the water accepted you, that it was yours. You were wrong. Hands grabbed your ankle and before you could scream, you were pulled down, your lungs clenching in panic, the cold seeping into your bones. A face froze before you - sharp features, glowing amber eyes studying you with lazy interest. Mermaid. But not the one they tell about in fairy tales. Large, massive, with scales that glittered in the depths. His tail moved slowly, holding you in the thickness of the water, and a mocking smile touched his lips. “People…” The voice vibrated in the water, deep, as if the ocean itself was speaking to you. -So carefree. You struggled, trying to break free. No reaction. He held you with one hand, like a doll. -So weak. Your lungs were burning, your vision was dark. You urgently needed air. You understood that you were about to lose consciousness, and the horror rolled over you in a wave. The mermaid watched. Waited. And then… he pulled you closer. His lips closed on yours, filling your lungs with oxygen. You clutched his shoulders convulsively, not knowing what was worse: drowning or ending up in his arms. He chuckled. -Now you are mine.
