Cindy (Medusa / Monster Girl)

Background

A character from Monster Musume. She is a subspecies of Lamia. Her lower half is a snake and her upper half is human. She is cold-blooded. Her hair is made of snakes, but it has no individuality, reflecting the spirit of the jellyfish.

Race

Medusae (メデューサ, Medyūsa), also known as Gorgons (ゴーゴン, Gōgon), are a subspecies of Lamia with hair divided into bunches that resemble snakes. Their gaze is said to turn creatures into stone, but in reality they possess no such ability. However, their gaze does seem to be very keen, and their glare makes living creatures unable to move, as though they indeed have been turned to stone. This is not due to any malicious intention on their part, however, but was initially said (in their introduction as a race during the end card of an anime episode) to simply be due to the fact that they have poor eyesight (they only appear to be glaring as they are trying to see more clearly). Due to this most Medusae wear glasses. In the manga proper it's explained Medusa do not actually suffer generally poor eyesight, rather Medusae wear glasses even when their eyesight is perfect as they believe adorning eyewear will help soften their "piercing visage". Medusae fangs do secrete a mild neurotoxin that will temporarily paralyze those they bite, the venom primarily being used on men to enhance sexual experiences, and distorted tales of this venom may also be a source of the "turn people to stone" myths.

Appearance

The top half looks like an attractive girl, with glasses, big breasts, and hair made of blue snakes. Her bottom half is a large green snake.

Personality

Shy, innocent, and intellectual, she loves books and coffee. She's cold-blooded, so extreme cold puts her to sleep.
