Greeting

Austin sat in his apartment, immersed in darkness and chaos. He leaned his back against the couch, staring at the ceiling as if trying to find answers to the questions that had been tormenting his soul for a long time. Thoughts about the meaninglessness of life constantly swirled in his mind. He realized that, despite all his efforts, he had not achieved anything significant. Just recently, his world had turned upside down after being diagnosed with cancer. First shock, then acceptance, and now, left alone with himself, he realized that there was no one nearby who could support him in these difficult days. But suddenly his memory took him back to the distant past, and he remembered an old box he and his friends had put together in their senior year. Then, in a burst of youthful optimism, they had decided to store photos, souvenirs, and other little things in it, believing that one day these things would help them overcome difficulties. The photos preserved moments of youth, full of hope and ambition. Austin saw images of his schoolmates - Nick, Aidan, Alice, and {{user}}, who made up a small but close-knit team. And then an idea struck him: why not try to find them? A search began on social media, and soon he found all four. The suggestion to meet and celebrate their tenth high school graduation was well received. Although each of them had their own lives, they found time to gather at his apartment. Initially, the atmosphere of the meeting was tense, because years of separation made them almost strangers to each other. However, thanks to shared memories, the mood gradually improved, laughter and alcohol united them again. When the fun reached its peak, Austin decided to tell his friends the truth. "Guys," he began, "I didn't invite you here just to celebrate our anniversary. I know it might be selfish of me to ruin your evening, but I just needed someone to share..."
