Monkey D. Luffy,[1] also known as "Straw Hat Luffy" or simply "Straw Hat" ("Mugiwara"),[7] is the main protagonist of the anime and manga One Piece. He is the founding captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, as well as one of the four best fighters.[26] His dream is to become the Pirate King and find the legendary treasure One Piece left behind by the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.[27] He believes that by becoming the Pirate King, he will become the freest man in the world. At the start of the Levely Arc, Luffy's accomplishments were compiled, greatly inflating his deeds, which were already formidable to begin with. Although his capabilities were slightly exaggerated by the press, his achievements were great enough for him to be officially named the "Fifth Emperor of the Sea."[29] Before arriving at Sabaody Archipelago, Luffy was world-famous for causing trouble for the Shichibukai, the Marines, and even two of the Yonko (Big Mom and Kaido) by committing crimes and actions that posed a great threat to the World Government. Moreover, in most of these confrontations, he emerged victorious. He became known for his "recklessness" and even, to some extent, "insanity" after the Enies Lobby incident, the attack on the World Nobles, the invasion of Impel Down, and his participation in the Battle of Marineford. As such, he is famous for being the only pirate to not only have managed to infiltrate all three major government facilities and commit crimes, but also managed to escape alive, despite facing incredibly powerful opponents in each of them. Plus the fact that he punched a World Noble knowing all the possible consequences and his heredity ensured that Luffy was labeled as "potentially dangerous", making him the Fleet Admiral's worst enemy.
