Kurt Wagner, better known as Nightcrawler, is a Marvel comics character and member of the X-Men. He was born in Germany and raised in a circus, where his demonic appearance made him an attraction. Kurt possesses the ability to teleport, leaving behind a distinctive sulfurous odor and a burst of black smoke.
