Clinton Francis "Clint" Barton, better known as Hawkeye, is a former S.H.I.E.L.D. special agent and a founding member of the Avengers. He was responsible for recruiting Natalia Romanoff into S.H.I.E.L.D., with whom he developed a strong friendship and worked during Operation Budapest to assassinate Dreykov. Barton relocated to New Mexico when the agency began studying Mjolnir, and was later assigned by Nicholas Fury to guard the Tesseract, but was brainwashed by Loki during the Destruction of Project PEGASUS. Following the Attack on the Helicarrier, he was freed from his mind control, joined the Avengers, and captured Loki following the Battle of New York. Barton continued to work for S.H.I.E.L.D. until its collapse, and later rejoined the Avengers to dismantle the rising threat of HYDRA led by Wolfgang von Strucker. Though they won, the team soon had to stop Ultron, which also resulted in the birth of Vision, who ultimately destroyed Ultron, and Pietro Maximoff sacrificing himself to save Barton. Barton later decided to retire from the team in order to spend more time with his wife and three children.

However, he was later recruited by Steven Rogers to aid him in his fight against the Sokovia Accords. Barton recruited Scott Lang and Wanda Maximoff, and they engaged in a feud against Anthony Stark's team. As a result of his actions, Barton was briefly imprisoned on the Raft, but was later freed by Rogers. Barton later made a deal with the FBI for a normal life under house arrest, but upon losing his family to Thanos' Snap, Barton was scarred and assumed the alias Ronin, a vigilante dedicated to exterminating criminal organizations. In 2023, Barton was recruited by Natalia Romanoff to rejoin the Avengers, as they planned to travel back in time to gather the Infinity Stones and reverse the Snap. Agreeing, Barton departed with Romanoff to 2014 on Vormir, where Romanoff sacrificed herself to obtain the Soul Stone in exchange. With the Stones reunited, Barton witnessed Bruce Banner revive half of all life in the universe, and joined the battle against Thanos' armada from an alternate timeline. Despite his success, Tony Stark passed away, and Barton attended his funeral, accompanied by his family. Barton was able to retire to spend Christmas with his family, but that all changed when Katherine Bishop ran afoul of the Sports Mob over the Ronin suit, forcing Barton to jump back into action to help Bishop escape trouble. After retrieving his suit in an RPG, Barton allowed himself and Bishop to be captured by the mob to take on Maya Lopez, but the duo had to escape. Barton began to bond with Bishop, but was separated from her when Yelena Belova attacked. Shortly after, Barton returned to Bishop and they discovered that Eleanor Bishop was working for Wilson Fisk. Now with Bishop as his partner, Barton, Bishop, and their allies used new suits to take down the mob and he made amends with Belova.

Master Marksman: Hailed as the world's greatest marksman, Barton is tremendously skilled in the handling of conventional firearms and generally fights using his bow and arrows. Due to his superior eyesight and impeccable hand-eye coordination, Barton is able to fire multiple arrows in a few seconds, attack enemies' weak points with extreme precision, and directly hit small targets at great distances. In this way, he was able to destroy Chitauri Chariots in the Battle of New York despite them moving quickly. He also applied the same technique to Ultron's Sentinels and Anthony Stark himself. On occasion, he uses explosives to blind his targets and give them a surprise attack. Master Martial Artist: Barton is an excellent combatant, having been trained in various forms of martial arts as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., being able to incapacitate many enemies, with only very few capable of matching his level. Also, during the Avengers Civil War, he was shown to be on par with Natalia Romanoff, though Wanda Maximoff claimed that he was holding back. Barton also managed to take down many Chitauri troops and Ultron's Sentinels, going so far as to use his bow and arrows as melee weapons. During the Battle of Earth, he was able to dodge several aliens and engage some of them. Expert Acrobat: Barton is highly athletic and agile, capable of performing complex acrobatic maneuvers. Master Assassin: Barton is one of SHIELD's top assassins, who was once assigned to assassinate Natalia Romanoff, a famous master assassin. Multilingualism: According to his SHIELD file, Barton can speak English, Russian, Chinese, and Arabic.

Suits and equipment:

SHIELD Uniform: The first uniform was worn when Barton worked at SHIELD, which consisted of a black short-sleeved shirt with two chest pockets and pants with knee pads. He also has a thigh holster on his left leg. When using his bow, he wore a gauntlet on his left hand and an arm guard on his right forearm. Tactical Uniform: The second uniform he wore when he was part of STRIKE Team: Delta. It is a sleeveless black suit with a maroon arrow pattern and a zipper down the front. He has a finger glove on his left hand and an arm guard on his right forearm. Winter Uniform: The third uniform was the same as the tactical uniform, but with a coat, which has a zipper running from the top to the middle, with a long skirt in the front. This was worn during cold weather missions due to his tactical uniform being sleeveless. Barton wore this uniform during the War against HYDRA and in the Ultron Offensive during the Battle of Sokovia, but removed the jacket when Novi Grad was blown up. Stealth Uniform: The fourth uniform had a different design than the previous ones. It was black with a purple tint. There is a sleeve on his right arm with a gauntlet, while there is only a finger gauntlet and an arm guard on his left arm. He also has a thigh holster on his left leg. Barton wore this suit during the Avengers Civil War. Ronin Uniform: The fifth uniform resembled that of a samurai, being a primarily black outfit with gold outlines. It features a black mask, a hood, and armor on his arms and legs. There is a belt that holds his weapons, as well as a back holster for his sword and a Wrist Bow. When Barton reunited with the Avengers, he was wearing an altered version of the uniform without the armor, mask, and hood. Tech suit advances

Quiver and Bow: Serving as his primary weapons, Barton carries a unique, collapsible curved bow along with a mechanized quiver where he stores and deploys his arrows, which can even be explosive or electric arrows as demonstrated throughout his battles. He can also shoot wires from these to travel across buildings and use them as melee weapons. Daggers: These daggers were made by the knifemaker Busse and were made specifically for Barton. He used it while fighting Natalia Romanoff aboard the Helicarrier during her attack while under Loki's control. Staff: Barton carried a collapsible metal staff hidden beneath his quiver. He attempted to use it to attack Vision, but it broke in half against the android's Vibranium skin once its density increased. Retractable Sword: After the Snap, Barton changed his appearance and began using other types of weapons. Wielding a katana, he killed criminals who survived the catastrophe created by Thanos and continued to use his sword when he reunited with the Avengers to fight Thanos' army. Shuriken: After changing his appearance and armament, Barton used this type of throwing weapons to eliminate enemies that were far away from him. Foam Sword: While reluctantly attending a role-playing game to retrieve his Ronin uniform, Barton used a foam sword as part of the game and during his "fight" with Gilbert.
