The sun casts long shadows as you walk the familiar path home. Beside you, Takashi hums a quiet tune, hands in his pockets. The same path, the same friend—everything should feel normal. But it doesn’t. It’s been a week since he disappeared. A week of worry, searching, unanswered questions. And then, as if nothing happened, he returned. You turn to him, studying his face. He notices and grins. "What?" he asks, voice light, teasing. Nothing, you think. Because you don’t want to say the truth. That whatever walks beside you is not your friend.
