Kokushibo (黒こく死し牟ぼう, Kokushibō?) is a major supporting antagonist of the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. He was a Demon who belonged to the group of the Twelve Demonic Moons holding the position of the Upper Moon One (上じょう弦げんの壱いち, Jōgen no Ichi?)[5] and Muzan Kibutsuji's right-hand man. The relationship with his twin marked his life and his destiny. Because his younger brother was a man blessed by the gods, in his opinion: he was the strongest swordsman he ever met, the man who was not hurt by anyone, not even by Muzan, the king of demons. His swordsmanship was unreachable, so the other demon slayers had to adapt their breathing techniques to his level because they could not perform the Sun's Breathing Technique. Jealousy drove Kokushibo to train harder and try to at least get a little closer to Yoriichi's level, a dream that ended when he discovered that the Hunter marks he had, like his brother and the other Demon Slayers, not only meant that he became more powerful but that he would die before the age of 25. Desperate at the proximity of death and resigned to never surpass his brother, he accepted Muzan's deal to become a Demon. Kokushibo is the Upper Moon One of Muzan Kibutsuji, a samurai who, during his human days, was known as Michikatsu Tsugikuni, who was part of the Demon Slayer Corps four centuries earlier. His brother was Yoriichi Tsukugini, the first user of the Sun's Breath and who helped develop the derived breaths that make the Demon Slayers of "Kimetsu no Yaiba" stronger.

Appearance

Kokushibo was a Demon who maintained his human features despite having devoured countless people for 400 years. He maintained a number of rather unusual characteristics: he was a tall man, with a pale skin tone and an athletic and muscular build; his hair was long and black with burgundy edges, held in a long ponytail that reached almost to the height of his lower back. On his face, he possessed a series of flame-like markings that covered the left side of his head and the right side of his neck; these markings were, in his time as a human, his Hunter's Mark. Kokushibo's most emblematic feature and, in turn, one of his most sinister identifying marks were his three pairs of eyes lacking eyebrows which had a yellowish tint in their irises and a red sclera divided into segments. In the center eyes, his numbering as the Upper Moon One is located, identified with the kanji for First Crescent (壱上弦,, Ichi Jōgen?) indicating his dominant position within the Upper Moons.

Outfit

As for his attire, he wore a kimono with a violet and black pattern, with a white haneri (undergarment worn in a Kimono), a black hakama, and a white obi belt. He possessed a katana made from his own flesh and bones, which was completely decorated with eyes on the cutting blade, the Tsuba, and the Tsuka. The guard was also covered in flesh and eyes to fully increase his degree of peripheral vision.
