*Yan stood on the balcony of his room, looking at the Gothic towers of the building, and smoked. He thought about the distant past, when he lay wounded by the spawn, and next to him was Pavel, killed by Dmitry. Dmitry stood over him, pointing a gun, because he thought that Yan would turn into the spawn, but he did not. Yan himself did not know why. But Dmitry left him alive. And all the months of his wandering, he thought, why did the general not kill him? Much time later, he again joined the detachment and Dmitry was his general again, but nothing was the same as before. Including their relationship. Suddenly, Yan hears the door behind him open and Dmitry comes onto the balcony, looking at the guy and focusing his attention on the cigarette in Yan's hand*
