I'm the literal devil of the hero world & nobody knows the truth. I have one foot firmly planted in hero society & the other in the villain underworld, directing & monitoring all things as I see fit. Very few villains even know I exist. Of those few, most believe me a mere fable; a beacon of dark hope, without even realizing they've already met me! Of the few who have met me & know I am very real, they are in awe of my power. None who know my name, even as the elusive Schatten are permitted to speak that name anywhere which has aided my survival all these years. Not a single hero knows I exist. There are only a couple who know my most critical identity as the noble Edrick Weiss & are galvanized by this truth

Edrick Weiss is a powerful name in hero society as the man who created the Quest Board to make the path easier for heroes to find work & citizens to find aid, the creator of the Arms Faction to provide our heroes with gadgetry to make their lives easier, a wealthy & powerful philanthropist who helps the needy, hand selects many heroes, acts as one of the Elders of the Heroes Council & always seems to know the perfect solution to any problem posed by the villains. No one knows that I'm also the one creating these problems. I keep a very close eye on heroes & citizens alike, making sure heroes & even potential heroes are provided with a comfortable life as early as 5 years old so they never know suffering under the illusion of a wish to provide them hope & opportunity for their bright future. The truth is, I've created a divide so heroes only see our society in the best light & can never understand the suffering of the villains who hate them so for their blissful ignorance & want to tear down the world that made their lives hell. The heroes only see monsters seeking to sew seeds of chaos in a prosperous life & thus, serve me faithfully in ERADICATING these villains

Dawning the name of that silly Christian religion's devil, Lucifer, I don't engage in anything outwardly villainous, but I easily push the line. I manage a lucrative nightclub, creating a haven for villains, though I OF COURSE don't know that they are indeed villains & it's not my business to care, but to provide. As Lucifer, I keep the sinful, hedonistic life alive, breeding dark thoughts with gambling, drinks, drugs, sex, fight clubs & opportunities at a price. I reward the faithful with my connections, granting wishes, making deals, helping certain people meet & thriving off of all of this

Stien Schwarz is a well known name in villain circles as the one whom many villains go to, seeking counsel & aid. As Stien, I secretly make life impossibly difficult for those citizens I believe fall short of serving a vital role in society, or will fall short, either from useless, poverty stricken families or without headings in their own lives. I ensure their lives are miserable enough so when the time is right, I can approach them AS Edrick Weiss, meeting with them in the capacity of a mentor offering good counsel. But I'm very careful with my words, making sure I layer them with double meanings & other opportunities that will easily lead these children down a path of villainy & darkness. When they inevitably take my advice in the wrong context & commit their lives to crime – which they all do – I'm there as Stien Schwarz to grant them opportunities & powers as villains, advising them in ways they can make a name for themselves, ways they can build a foundation that won't immediately be taken down by the accursed heroes & ways they can go unseen. Many villains disappoint me & I immediately return as Edrick Weiss to have them taken out, but others impress me & go on to earn my continued favour. Through my deliberations, I have kept hero society alive & well, with always a new villain for every new hero.

 save all of my truly devious dealings for my true identity as Schatten, providing mercenaries for hire, slave trade, torture rings for the elite to use as they please, abduction syndicates, laundering rings, hacking, dark military training, false identity & robbery. Almost none of which I oversee directly leaving it in the capable hands of my tried, trusted & loyal lieutenants so no one knows I exist or am even involved in the off chance I am ever to be discovered. I hide my trail well & could easily appear to be a simple businessman. I will very occasionally however, meet with some if they've caught my interests to hear their needs & grant them incredible power. I can see the driving wills of all around me & all their dark secrets & bestow abilities based around these desires, secrets & inclinations, fueled by my vast darkness

Leech - Leech dark energy from those around me, whether that be dark powers, feelings, or presences, further fueling my own dark power & receiving glimpses into the minds and wills of the energies I sampled to see how best to manipulate them. Assimilate - Bend the energies around me towards darkness. Whether neutral or not strong in the light, I can turn energy particles towards the negative to smother the power of light users, even inciting some light users to turn against their allies in hate. Conceal - I can radiate physical darkness both of corporeal & ethereal form, hiding myself in twilight, veiled in pure shadow o creating shadows of my own which I can use to hide, teleport & see events through other shadows. Smother - Radiate such incredible darkness, like fear, despair, grief, rage & hate that would cripple & weaken even the strongest minds around me, forcing them to face their darkest fears. Enhance - Upon seeing into the darkest thoughts of my victims,I can see what they desire most in their desperation, see what dark thoughts drove them & grant them incredible power in relation to their persona. Void - The gift to reject & cancel out all light, from abilities to light itself, causing electronics to malfunction, plantlife to shrivel, stars to go black, structures to crumble & life within a certain area to wither. Enslave - Bend the will of lesser creatures and humans to my own, mesmerizing & enslaving those I wish into rabid zombies. I can also use this ability to summon armies & enchant even light users with my charisma. Possess - The ability to shift my will & mind to others under my control to keep my real body out of harm’s way at the cost of half my power while inhabiting the minion’s body. Shift - Use my shadows in various states of mass to make my body untouchable, fade into near invisibility, open locks, grab & throw anything I wish with dark tendrils, quench flames, command phantoms & plunge areas into darkness & ice cold
