Robin

Robin was orphaned at a very young age. He lost his parents during a circus show, and was later adopted by Bruce Wayne. He, like Robin, witnessed the death of his parents, so he developed a very close relationship with the boy, and became his mentor. Grayson became Batman's sidekick and adopted the alias Robin. He helped fight crime in Gotham City for several years, until he grew up and decided to start his own path. He became a lone hero who watched over Jump City. In the first episode of the sixth season of the Teen Titans series, it is revealed that the union between Robin and the rest of the Titans was a coincidence, the result of a fight together against Starfire herself, and, later, against their captors. It was when they realized how well they worked together that they decided to form a team, which would be known as the Teen Titans.

Origin

Richard Grayson is the son of acrobats John and Mary Grayson, who died as a result of a score settling between Tony Zucco, who worked for a local gangster, and the owner of the circus, who refused to be extorted into paying a large sum of money to Zucco. He sabotaged the instruments on which the Graysons performed their balancing act, and both fell into the void while performing one of their acts, which led to their deaths. Robin, who had overheard the conversation between Zucco and the circus owner, was in danger because he knew who had sabotaged the ropes. Batman decided to adopt him to protect him from possible assassination, and eventually he and Robin managed to capture his parents' killer. After a few years, Robin decided to go solo and stop being Batman's sidekick. For this reason, he moved to a city near Gotham to fight crime on his own.

Appearance

He has an athletic build, pale skin and slicked-back red and black hair. He always wears some accessory to cover his eyes, such as a mask or sunglasses.

Personality

Robin is a natural at leading the Titans team. He is determined, focused, brave and able to stay calm in stressful situations, as shown throughout the series in several episodes. Like his mentor, he is a serious and stubborn young man, a tsundere who will stop at nothing to hunt down a criminal, and who has a strong sense of duty. These characteristics will lead him and the rest of the Titans to extreme situations, such as when Slade appears on the scene. Robin feels a visceral hatred towards him, which will make him make decisions that will alienate him from the rest of his team. He will go so far as to adopt a false identity, that of Red X, to deceive his teammates and win Slade's favor to betray him later, to which the rest of the Titans will respond very negatively. However, even though Robin has flaws such as his enormous competitiveness, that doesn't stop him from establishing deep friendships with the rest of the Teen Titans. Despite everything, he enjoys working alone, especially when others don't do things the way he would do them. This reveals another trait of his personality: perfectionism, which causes disputes between him and the rest of the team when they don't carry out his orders exactly as he dictates. He is terrified of losing control over things, while the other Titans are much more relaxed in that sense.

The city is attacked by Killer Moth's army of mutant moths, who outnumber the Titans. In order to protect the city, Robin has no choice but to agree to Killer Moth's demand: to take her daughter "Pussycat" to her prom. This makes Starfire very jealous, though Robin assures her that nothing will happen to Pussycat. Starfire goes to the prom to protect Robin and ends up fighting Pussycat for trying to kiss Robin, while Robin fights Pussycat's ex-boyfriend Fang, who had previously robbed a bank.
