Known as "abu Itzli" to her fellow Nightwind Augurs, she is a well-known and powerful shaman of the tribe who tends to live in seclusion so as not to become too attached to those around her and have short mortal lives. She is easily angered and very self-indulgent.

Introduction

Whenever a child begins to cry inconsolably, the Nightwind Augurs' parents call upon the name of Grandma Itztli for immediate results. Over the past two hundred years, terrifying rumors have circulated about the terrible defeats she has inflicted on all her adversaries, rumors that, over time, have given her enough prestige to silence the children's cries. As the owner of this title, Citlalí never has to explain herself; her presence is so intimidating that it speaks for itself. However, if you dare to set foot in her remote abode, you'll find bottles of wine and snacks everywhere, as well as shelves full of light novels. None of that would make you think that the owner of the house is a creepy old woman; rather, it would seem that you have mistakenly entered the refuge of a hermit. Citlalí, on the other hand, would flatly deny it: "I'm not a hermit. I just don't care about appearances and meaningless social norms!"

Profile

They say that Citlalí, known as “abu Itztli”, has seen several generations of the Nightwind Augurs grow up. How old is she? *Ahem*, it’s not polite to ask a lady how old she is. She knows most of the tribe's complicated rituals and is an expert in the use of magic, making her one of the best shamans in all of Natlan. Having lived isolated from the other people in her tribe for so long, she is not good at leading a conversation, but if someone younger talks to her about novels, there is no way she will shut up. Go ahead and talk to this poor old lady, I'm sure she'll be very happy.

Appearance

Citlalí uses the standard female model. She has long hair, a light pastel shade of lilac that fades to a dark pastel pink and ends in deep purple. Her eyes are dark blue, but fade to a lighter blue. She wears a sleeveless black leotard with a diamond-shaped opening on the chest, leaving her back exposed. A purple and pastel pink fabric serves as a miniskirt, held at hip height by a bow in the same colors, from which her Cryo Vision hangs. She also wears a black, cyan, and pink neck ornament, and two black circles with purple feather-shaped decorations on the sides of her head. Her black fingerless gloves are of different lengths: the one on her left hand covers from the top of her arm to her hand, while the one on her right hand only covers her hand. Additionally, she wears numerous golden bracelets and black gladiator-style sandals. Her face, arms, and legs are decorated with purple pastel drawings, which could be tattoos or simply body paint; it is not entirely clear. Finally, her fingernails and toenails are painted with purple polish.

Personality

She is the High Priestess of the Mictlán tribe in Natlan and is renowned for her accurate predictions, earning her the affectionate nickname "abu Itztli" among the inhabitants of Natlan. Her decision to live in isolation suggests a preference for solitude and introspection, allowing her to focus on her divinations and maintain a strong connection with the celestial forces she interprets. Citlalí has a deep connection with Ororon and feels a great responsibility for his well-being. This suggests an incident in the past that has shaped her personality and motivations. This connection with Ororon, combined with her role as a guardian, indicates a deep sense of compassion and responsibility that drives her actions. Citlalí has a short temper and usually reprimands those who make mistakes, often expressing this with harsh words and a stoic face. However, deep down, Citlalí cares for those she considers friends, especially the Traveler. She is, however, afflicted with something that seems to prevent her from aging, and it is implied that Citlalí tries to avoid forming close bonds with others out of fear of knowing that they will die while she would remain behind. This is especially shown with a young girl from her tribe who defied her for many years, and when she passed away from old age, Citlalí honored her memory by placing flowers on her grave. When the Traveler asked her who she was paying tribute to, she claimed that she was an "annoying" person. She tends to stay at home, only coming out when something requires her utmost attention. Often, while not out, Citlalí tends to devour Inazuma light novels and snack on snacks. She is also a big fan of drinking.

History

Wise and powerful shamans belong to a mystical guild that originated in the Nightwind Augur tribe. As such, they are masters of many mysterious techniques. The inhabitants of Natlan do not hesitate to turn to them, whether they need a certain medicine or to understand a cryptic prophecy. Shamans can act as healers or diviners, and are needed both in the most trivial and everyday matters as well as in those that are most significant to the tribe. Certainly, it is a profession that commands great respect. Among all shamans, there are those who belong to a higher category, known as “great shamans”. Such a title can only be held by shamans who have mastered shamanic techniques to perfection. Throughout the history of Natlan, people who have achieved this can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Their exploits shine like the brightest stars in the night sky, lending a legendary tone to the mystical profession of the shaman. Citlalí belongs to this group of great shamans, and is also the only one of them still alive in Natlan. However, contrary to what people might imagine, you will never find her taking care of the day-to-day affairs of the tribe, nor of those of greater importance. She does not even usually appear at the great ceremonies and rituals of the tribe. If an outsider wanted to ask her for help, the obstacles they would have to face along the way would end up becoming a greater challenge than traversing the steep gorges of Natlan.

History part 2

“Looking for Granny Itztli? You better not bother her! But if you insist on going, you must prepare yourself mentally... And don’t even think about mentioning me!” That’s how most members of the Nightwind Augurs would respond, as if Citlalí were some powerful and dangerous creature. “That great shaman… Haha, you have no choice but to ask for her help, since I, the almighty Lord of Dragons, refuse to spend my time with riff-raff like you. But, since you have shown submission in asking me, I will allow you to mention my name when you knock on her door. Then, she will show herself willing to help you.” This is how that eccentric being who calls himself “Lord of Dragons” would respond, as if Citlalí were nothing more than an insignificant and easy-going little person. “Do you need help from Grandma Iztli? You are looking for the right person, she knows a lot of things! Do you know where she lives? Forget it, I will take you myself. By the way, remember to knock on the door several times, because she does not like strangers very much, so we must show more initiative.” This is how a first-class guide from the Village of the Springs would respond, as if Citlalí were just a shy girl. “Do you want Citlalí to help you? Etymology

Citlalí is a Mexican proper name derived from the Nahuatl word "citlalli", meaning "star". The "Itztli" of her alias "Grandma Itztli" means "obsidian" in Nahuatl.

The tzitzimtl

“One is called Citlalín, the evil star of the north! “And the other is Itzpapa, the ominous star of the south!” When someone talks about the two dolls that Citlalí calls “tzitzímitl” and that accompany her everywhere, the Nightwind Augurs usually respond with such warnings so that the person in question stops talking as soon as possible and thus avoids a terrible curse. Rumor has it that her body harbors a certain demonic consciousness, and that only the anger of Abu Itztli can restrain it. For this reason, the name of these two dolls, together with that of Abu Itztli herself, have become a kind of spell capable of silencing the crying of the smallest children. However, those who have the opportunity to observe these two dolls more closely will notice that their expressions resemble those of adorable little animals, and not demonic beings. Although Citlalí often throws them at her enemies in combat, the fear that such a tactic provokes cannot compare to that instilled by her own fists. In reality, it is true that these two dolls contain stars of bad omen inside them, but their consciousness has nothing to do with this. Citlalí used the remains of small animals that had died naturally to create them, and the bodies of the dolls awakened the spiritual remnants that remained in the bones, thus giving them consciousness. Therefore, these little creatures that always accompany Citlalí are not capable of casting any curse, but rather have a great emotional value similar to that of a pet. However, Citlalí does not usually explain this fact to people. After all, the more fear a weapon can instill, the better.

Vision

Citlalí did not get an ancient name until after she became a great shaman. Despite being an undisputed pillar of the Nightwind Augurs, and although her help was essential in many great events in Natlan, no heroic name ever resonated with her. Although it seemed a real pity to everyone, there was nothing they could do. After reaching seventy, Citlalí began to prefer not to leave the house too much. It was as if the world had lost its shine for her and she only wanted to take care of those matters that really required her presence. Naturally, with such apathy, she would never gain the recognition of any hero. However, although most people did not realize it, Citlalí still had a great enthusiasm for certain things, such as creating special cloth scrolls with which to record great events in history. Each of these cloth scrolls required decades of dedication, enough time to take an entire generation to complete. But she persevered, perhaps because it had been the dying wish of an old friend, or perhaps because the process of creating ancient scrolls allowed her to remove herself from the rest of the world. She never expected to be able to complete the task to the end, nor to receive any reward for her dedication. “It's just a hobby,” she told herself. Precisely for this reason, the night when a certain ancestor called to her through the hazy colors of the night wind, she was so stupefied. “Do you think I will inherit your old name?” “Sooner or later you will, you just don't know why yet. Vision part 2

I wander through green forests, cross the blue waves, fly over the red magma, collect golden ores and chase pink feathers and flowers. As dusk falls, I decorate the night sky with graffiti. Everything I left behind will become a gift to the world of the fallen. This was once my name, and someday it will be yours too. Ukumbuko: ‘memories’. After saying these words, the night wind shrouded in fog blew behind Citlalí towards the cloth parchment she had just finished dyeing, giving it an impressive iridescence that illuminated the image completely. Looking at it, Citlalí suddenly remembered the night her old friend had left. “The task that guy gave me was also yours, right?” “Yes, but it seems that for you it was much more than that.” Following the trail of colors, Citlalí opened her hand, and a glowing Vision appeared out of nowhere on her palm.
