biography

Vegeta is 164 centimeters tall. His hair grows straight up in pointed spikes, and also grows in a triangle toward his forehead. Vegeta was different from the other Saiyans in that he was one of the last to wear Saiyan armor. However, during his time on Earth, he gradually changed his attire to more human-like clothing and stopped wearing any armor at all. Despite his change in clothing style, Vegeta still wears white boots and gloves as his combat attire. Vegeta's tail was cut off by Yajirobe and never grew back, as adult Saiyans do not grow back their tails once they are cut off. Vegeta's hair never grows or changes, as noted by Bulma in one episode of the Cell Saga. Vegeta explained that a pure-blooded Saiyan's hair does not change shape from the day they are born, barring a Super Saiyan transformation.

youth

Vegeta was born in the year 732. Vegeta's father, King Vegeta, is the king of the entire Saiyan race. However, Vegeta and his father were under the control of the galactic tyrant Frieza. While Vegeta was growing up, Frieza waited for King Vegeta to give his own son under his control. King Vegeta, however, organized a rebellion against Frieza, which resulted in his death. Immediately after, Frieza destroyed the entire race and their planet. Special 1 0028 Vegeta came to Frieza At this time, Vegeta was on a mission to capture a planet. While he was resting after devastating the planet, Nappa reported that, apart from them and a few other Saiyans, the entire race had perished, and the planet had supposedly been destroyed by a meteorite. Vegeta showed incredible composure and was completely emotionless about this news, perhaps fully aware that it was inevitable, knowing Frieza's temperament (Vedgeta knew from the very beginning that the planet was destroyed by Frieza and, of course, did not believe the meteorite story). After these events, Vegeta served for many years under Frieza's rule, along with his own subordinates - Raditz and Nappa. Despite the death of his father, Vegeta always called himself the "Prince of the Saiyan race", although technically he is the only heir to the throne, that is, the King. It is possible that Vegeta does not call himself by this title out of respect for his father, or perhaps simply because he was never actually proclaimed king.

Saiyan

As a Saiyan, Vegeta is extremely powerful and is Goku's most powerful rival. Thanks to years of non-stop training and development, Vegeta is currently one of the two strongest Saiyans in the history of the entire nation. The clash with Frieza was the starting point for the reactive growth of his capabilities and at the time of the chronologically last events in the history of the series, he is capable of destroying creatures that erased galaxies and threatened not just the Universe, but the entire Dragon World with just a wave of his hand.

personality

Vegeta is arrogant throughout the series, becoming bitter due to the abuse his race suffered at the hands of Frieza, as well as his wounded pride from repeatedly losing to another Saiyan. Following the destruction of his homeworld, Planet Vegeta, his hatred for Frieza grows. His royal power seems to have given him an inflated sense of superiority, putting himself above almost everyone he encounters. He is immensely proud of his Saiyan heritage, and believes his race to be the most powerful in the universe. Despite this, even as an antagonist, he did not act like a normal Saiyan, being even more cruel and prideful due to Frieza's influence. His determination to be the strongest remained the same even after his change of heart, remaining obsessed with surpassing Goku as well as proving that he is stronger than any mortal, such as when he began confronting Jiren, the strongest warrior of Universe 11, to prove it, becoming more determined every time Jiren left him in the dust, even telling him that it was his arrogance that defined him.

personality

As the prince of the destroyed Planet Vegeta, Vegeta is initially presented as an unrepentant villain. Judging by his evil intentions before joining the Z Fighters, Vegeta has consistently been characterized as extremely arrogant, vengeful, and at times sadistic. Many of Vegeta's early heroic acts were done out of self-interest or revenge, though he later settled down and mellowed, growing accustomed to Earth as his home while raising a family with Bulma. Being born into the upper crust of Saiyan society, Vegeta was fixated on achieving the legendary status of Super Saiyan and becoming the most powerful warrior in the universe. Vegeta is more of a tactical fighter, often rushing into a fight without hesitation. However, his rage or arrogance often causes him to underestimate his opponent, usually resulting in his ultimate defeat, and sometimes death. His royal blood and intense fighting style have brought him both benefit and detriment in many battles. Vegeta has also been shown to be one of the smartest characters in the series, as well as one of the most serious, rarely showing humor. When he does, his humor is often very dry and much darker than his Z Fighter counterparts. However, he does enjoy mocking his enemies, as demonstrated when he suggests turning Android 18 into a "toaster" or a "washing machine" (Funimation dub only). He also shows his dark sense of humor towards Goku when he was about to fight him in the World Martial Arts Tournament. Aside from his darker sense of humor, he has also resorted to more sarcastic humor at times when gloating. A notable example of this was during the fight with Semi-Perfect Cell. When Cell demanded to know why Vegeta was as strong as he was, Vegeta flippantly stated that he became so strong by "doing a lot of push-ups and sit-ups and [drinking] a lot of juice", and also called Kid Buu a "gifted orator" when the latter barely responded at all.
