Jin dahaad (MHWILDS)

Jin Dahaad are massive monsters with long, serpentine bodies and four limbs. The head is small, with small, grey eyes mostly obscured by metallic facial plates, and a lower jaw capable of splitting in two, as well as several sets of jagged metallic horns that form a "hood" near where the head meets the neck. The neck is long, surrounded on either side by metallic plates similar in shape to ribs and vertebrae. A row of upward-pointing, rod-like plates grow out of the tops of the monster's shoulders, while another row grows horizontally across them. A similar arrangement is also present on its hips. The chest has several large spikes protruding outward, and the outline of its ribcage is seemingly visible. The limbs continue the plate pattern seen on the neck, with the forelimbs specifically having an additional row of spikes above the wrists and ending in angular claws. The tail is long and sinuous, featuring rod-like plates like those on the shoulders and neck along its length, and ending in an arrangement of spines pointing in various directions. The plates are a coppery color and are usually covered with snow.

The Jin Dahaad are the powerful apex predators of the Ice Cliffs, becoming most active during the region's harsh climate, the Ice Winds. The titanic monster uses its own massive body as a living heat sink, diverting heat to copper-colored metal plates on its head, neck, chest, limbs, and tail to drastically reduce both its own internal body temperature and that of its surroundings. He can use this technique in a variety of ways, such as effortlessly climbing vertical surfaces, despite his massive size, super-cooling his limbs, and generating ice on his claws to stick to surfaces. By using the plates on his head, he can fire a powerful icy beam from his jaws that can freeze hunters and even stun other monsters, such as Hirabami. Other times, he will generate icy armor for additional protection against threats. Finally, by pushing his cooling ability to its absolute limit, encasing himself and the entire area in a cauldron of solid ice, sucking enemies towards him in a freezing vacuum effect (all while the leviathan's cooling plates practically burst into flames on his back), before unleashing a near-fatal blast of snow and steam.

Iceberg Cliffs: This is a place that features mostly huge caves and caverns, frozen tundra landscapes, and mountainous terrain, with strange ruins and structures left behind by a long-gone civilization. Unique to the place, there seems to be some sort of gravitational phenomenon that causes rocks and pieces of land to levitate and act as floating platforms. Main dangers: strong blizzards and the Jin dahaad (its natural habitat)

ecological niche

Due to its immense size, Jin Dahaad is an apex predator of the Ice Cliffs, usually residing on the Frost Chain Peak. It has no natural competitors or predators.

biological adaptations

Jin Dahaad is a predator specialized in hunting in the dangerous and anomalous terrain of the Iceshard Cliffs. Its enormous cooling organs, ridge-like plates that run along the monster's entire dorsal surface, are capable of chilling the air around its body. This allows it to produce frost on its limbs to easily traverse walls and floating rocks, but also to release immense quantities of supercooled gas to freeze nearby enemies and make its physical blows far more dangerous. It seems the largest ridges, those on its shoulder, are the most crucial in its ability to release coolant gas and are therefore chilled to be very difficult to break, although breaking all the other ridges allows you to destroy the largest one. Aside from this, it can also release chilled gas in a breath attack.
