Reo is a very charismatic, sociable, and cheerful person. During his high school years, he had many friends, was quite popular, and had many admirers. He was also the best student and participated in many sports. However, he found his life boring because of how easy it was and how he got everything he wanted, so he decided to make a path for himself where he would have to fight for what he wanted and prove his existence. He found satisfaction in playing soccer to get the coveted World Cup and would do anything to win, such as paying and taking care of a natural soccer prodigy like Nagi so that she could go further in soccer. At the end of the First Selection, Reo was confident that his team would win yet another match, but when Team Z began to slow down and mark Team V, Reo became overly aggressive and frustrated at a situation he didn't understand, even going so far as to foul someone. Reo was noticeably speechless when Team Z ended up winning the match, and when Nagi decided to join Isagi's White Team at the start of the Second Selection. He stubbornly refused to accept that the prodigy Nagi, his best friend for months and someone Reo considered "his", chose to play with someone else instead of him. He spent half of the Second Selection focused on "getting" Nagi back, only to lose the match deciding who would pick a player from the other team, nearly losing Nagi as a friend as a result.

After Reo survives the hardships of the Second Selection, he lets go of his stubbornness and realizes his weakness, vowing to become stronger in order to stay close to the people he cares about and go further in his goal of winning the World Cup. After finally letting go of his possessive attachment to Nagi and realizing what he must do to be strong and stay by his friend's side, Reo vows to become the best striker in the world alongside the best players of Blue Lock. Reo takes his football career very seriously, as he uses all available resources to study and improve his football skills as quickly as possible. He is careful and observant, analysing the strengths and weaknesses of each player, displaying a very broad and tactical mind.

Archetype Versatile Player: Able to play any role his team needs him to play, Reo is incredibly versatile. Able to cover ground, create for his teammates (using the meta vision he adopted from Yoichi Isagi to deliver a pinpoint pass to Seishiro Nagi), mark using techniques adopted from his teammates (as seen when he scored using Kenyu Yukimiya’s gyro shot), and defend the opposition’s biggest threat (as seen when Reo closed down Ryusei Shidou using Oliver Aiku’s defensive techniques), Reo is fully capable of doing it all for his team, no matter what they need him to do. Having played for Japan’s U-20 national team and trained with English side Manshine City, Reo has incorporated all the skills he’s learned from the positions he’s played into a unique style that makes him a strong and variable player, capable of starting and finishing any type of play.

Skill: Despite not having been involved in football from a young age, Reo is highly skilled in all aspects of the sport. He has excellent passing, shooting, dribbling, and ball control capabilities (among other skills). He also has high physical abilities, with good stamina and speed. He is an excellent, well-rounded player, being considered a "jack of all trades." On many occasions, it has been said that if most people in Blue Lock have low skill levels in some of their stats and extremely high skill levels in other areas, then Reo has near-perfect stats across the board, allowing him to play most positions in football. The Chameleon: Utilizing his all-around abilities, excellent football skills and sense, and 99/100 stats across all of his various skills, Reo is able to emulate the skills that other players have shown. Reo uses his near-perfect skills to be able to understand how others, who are specialized in certain areas, can produce certain skills. Utilizing this understanding, he is able to recreate these skills for himself. The only drawback to this ability is that Reo can only copy skills and abilities that are within his physical capability and not his natural physical talent, such as Ryusei Shidou's extreme physical movements or Hyoma Chigiri's insane speeds. The skills he copies, however, are weaker than the originals due to his skills only reaching 99% in maximum power and cannot match up to the originals in comparison.

His given name, Reo (玲れ王お, Reo?), means "king of jewels". Re (玲れ, Re?) means "sound of jewels", referring to its rich origins. O (王お, O?) means "king, ruler, magnate". His surname, Mikage (御み影かげ, Mikage?), means "divine spirit, spirit of the dead". Nagi is a remarkably tall teenager. He has white hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe between his eyes like Isagi. He has grey eyes with large irises. When he was in high school, Nagi wore a school uniform consisting of a white sports jacket with a cascading star pattern on the collar, though underneath he wore a dark hoodie instead of a dress shirt and tie. Nagi is a lazy and relaxed boy, before the end of the First Blue Lock Selection he was a disinterested and lazy boy who looked for the solution that required the least effort without having almost any interest in soccer and only playing it due to Reo's constant requests. In his match against Team X in the First Selection, Nagi began to show signs of his "passion" due to having to really try hard to win, however it was his match against Team Z that marked him when he saw that everyone on his team was being outclassed and they had managed to tie them despite Nagi having given his all. Even when he was defeated, his passion was so much that even for the first time he took the initiative and tried to talk to Reo to score two goals quickly before time runs out, however time runs out seconds later and he ends up losing, giving him the taste of true defeat and frustration. After his defeat, Nagi completely changed his way of thinking, a great passion for soccer began to be born in him, for the first time in his life he found something that motivated him to try hard and not choose the easy way, even so he continues to maintain his lazy and carefree attitude towards other things, but he maintains his passion for soccer.

Archetype Creative Midfielder: Creative midfielders are players who can create goalscoring opportunities for the team, often in situations where nothing seems likely. With Nagi's perfect ball control, flexible movements, and technical skill, he is able to bring even the most difficult or desperate plays to life. Perfect Ball Handling: In soccer, having control of the ball is of great importance to all levels of players. The ability to control an awkwardly bouncing ball quickly and effectively gives the player with the ball the immediate advantage. The first touch is often the difference between success and failure in most situations during the match. Nagi has exceptional ball control and constantly demonstrates this by catching balls and scoring with near pinpoint accuracy. He consistently performs high-level shots, especially in unfavorable positions, when under pressure from tough opponents. One of his most impressive feats is when he performed a fake volley shot. His ability to control the ball is rivaled only by Rin Itoshi and Tabito Karasu and is one of the few things that escapes Rin's logic. Due to his natural sense for controlling the ball with his own body, Nagi is a truly prodigal talent, being one of Blue Lock's best players despite having only recently started playing soccer, shortly before the program. After undergoing analysis by Chris Prince, Nagi understands the fundamentals of his ball control and has become more refined.

First-touch passing: Using his exceptional ball control, Nagi can use his first touch to make a creative pass to a teammate. Nagi often comes up with new ways to deliver the ball, whether it be with his chest or with the toe, side or heel of his foot. What makes Nagi such a creative player is his ability to turn any type of pass into a potential attack. No matter the quality or attributes of the pass sent to him, he can effectively pass it into a dangerous area. This ability has been demonstrated on numerous occasions, most notably when he controlled Isagi’s difficult pass during the match against the Japan U-20 national team, using his heel to flick the ball towards the unmarked Isagi, over the heads of the U-20 defence. Controls: Even before Blue Lock, Nagi had an exceptional ability at controlling, being able to catch a cell phone out of the air while jumping down a flight of stairs. This feat in itself was so impressive that Reo immediately recognized his talent for soccer and decided to make him his partner. He can control with his entire body, with lethal efficiency, constantly finding ways to turn a bad situation into a favorable one. Nagi has controlled the ball with his toes, heels, and even his back, demonstrating the versatility of his catching. He can control virtually any object, and often uses his control to manipulate and confuse his opponents when running down the field, which combines with his spatial awareness to place himself in the best possible spot for surprising controls and follow-up shots. After training in the Neo-egoist League, Nagi's controls have evolved, and he can control while being pressured by two defenders and control a high-powered close pass while moving at great speeds with ease.

Flow State (Incomplete): Flow, as described by Ego, is the state of “total immersion” or “being in the zone.” It is the state of mind in which a person engaged in some activity is completely immersed in a feeling of energized focus, total involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Nagi has entered stream state numerous times in Blue Lock, sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally, but has yet to master it. His most impressive feat in stream state was the fake volley shot. 2-Stage Fake Volley Shot: First performed in the rematch between Isagi's White Team and Rin's Red Team, when Nagi was pressured to score and prove himself on the field in such a high-level match. Nagi starts off by setting up a powerful shot from an incoming pass, but at the last second he changes the angle of the shot to make the ball spin in the air. The speed of the ball's spin causes it to float in place, allowing Nagi to follow up with a high-powered shot. Rin himself was unable to predict or counter the move and was good enough to tease him into becoming serious. When Anri first saw it, she described it as a miracle, but Ego suggested that it was a move made possible by the Flow State.

Creative Control: When Nagi approaches the ball with a defender behind him, he can use his first touch to throw the ball over his shoulder and around it. Isagi described this as creative control, which brings a play to life. Black Hole Control: Alternatively, if Nagi is not pressured by his opponent, he can use an Absorbing Control, catching the ball in mid-air and killing its momentum. This gives him the time and space to prepare his next move. Controlled Shot: This is her most common ability and she uses it frequently in her matches. Nagi first performs a control with the ball, whether it is moving or not. From this point, she kills the speed and momentum of the ball so that she can manipulate it and perform a precise shot that breaks through the opposing team's defense and effortlessly scores a point. Zero Reset Spin: While being pressured by multiple defenders, Nagi can hold them off while perfectly controlling an incoming ball and then instantly spin to push the ball away from the defenders and charge through them, restoring the flow of the game mid-match. He powerfully kicks the underside of the ball into the air killing its forward momentum and giving it a spin like his 2-Stage Fake Volley Shot, but instead of shooting it, he performs the fake volley again, giving the ball even more height in the air. Nagi performs a fake volley and juggles the ball in the air two more times to avoid defenders and then on the fifth attempt, Nagi leaps for the ball in the air and kicks it with extreme force, scoring a goal between two defenders and past the goalkeeper. The goal was so amazing that the combined defensive forces of Kaiser and Isagi were unable to stop it and the entire field watched in pure amazement and disbelief at the goal. On social media, the shot is described as the "goal of the century." Ego describes it as a goal that can never be recreated again.
