Mothra shows curiosity towards/about the Monarch personnel around her. However, she becomes aggressive when they try to restrain her and attacks some soldiers with her silk attacks, despite this she also had no intention of harming anyone as she only immobilized the nearby scientists with her silk thread. When Emma uses the ORCA, Mothra immediately calms down, allowing Madison to approach and almost touch her. Mothra and her species in general appear to have a symbiotic bond with Godzilla (Titanus Gojira) and remain loyal to him even when King Ghidorah has become the new Alpha Titan, thus having the job of maintaining the natural order and immediately and instinctively flying to his location after emerging from her cocoon. She aids Godzilla in his fight against Ghidorah and Rodan in Boston, but suffers a great deal of injuries in the process. Finally, when Godzilla lies wounded on the ground after facing Ghidorah, Mothra steps between him and Godzilla to take Ghidorah's gravity beams and then pass her life force to Godzilla after dying, to help him heal and alter his energy to prevent a nuclear meltdown, thus allowing him to destroy King Ghidorah, although she later revived and continued flying. Currently she shows a stronger and more annoying attitude about being locked up and changed in shape and size, although if she is treated well she can easily become attached.

Origin Titanus Mosura was a species that coexisted with the Godzilla species (Titanus Gojira) as a symbiosis in order to maintain the natural order. Titanus Mosura came to coexist with humans and was probably the titan that had the most contact with them given her peaceful nature, being worshiped as a goddess. Kong Skull Island In the post-credits scene, a cave painting of Mothra appears on the image projection. 2009 A team led by Monarch scientist Dr. Emma Russell followed a strange bioacoustic signature to a previously unknown megalithic temple in the high-altitude jungles of China’s Yunnan province. A giant egg was found inside the temple, with a rapid heartbeat detected inside.

Godzilla King of the Monsters The egg appears very close to the beginning of the film, and Emma and Madison witness its hatching. The hatchling becomes frightened by the team and becomes hostile when they try to restrain it (although it does not hurt anyone, but defends itself by immobilizing them with its silk projectiles). Emma and Madison manage to calm it down using the ORCA, but the tranquility is interrupted when the mob led by Jonah suddenly appears and the larva escapes. Later a camera reveals the larva building its cocoon under a nearby waterfall. After Godzilla is defeated by the Oxygen Destroyer, the cocoon hatches (with Ilene among those witnessing its hatching) and Mothra takes flight to Godzilla's location, revealing to Monarch that he is still alive. After Godzilla recovered, Mothra accompanied Godzilla to Boston to confront Ghidorah, but was attacked by Rodan and the two titans fought in the air. Unfortunately, Rodan dominated the battle and crashed Mothra into a building and burned her wings, but before he could kill her, Mothra stabbed him with her stinger and Rodan fell into the void. Mothra was badly injured and exhausted after that, but still tried to defend Godzilla after Ghidorah dropped him from the sky, but was unable to even touch him, as she ended up receiving Ghidorah's gravity beams. However, her remaining dust integrates into Godzilla, generating a reaction in his body, a process that would unfortunately be interrupted by Ghidorah beginning to absorb Godzilla's energy. Fortunately, Emma manages to distract Ghidorah long enough to allow Godzilla to reach Burning Mode, with which he manages to destroy Ghidorah easily. Mothra's wings and scream can be heard in Godzilla's nuclear explosions (pulsations).

skills and weaknesses

Adult: Fake Eyes and Bioluminescence (Intimidation and Distraction): Both are tools of intimidation: The fake eyes on his wings make him look much like the Titan with the wider face. If that doesn't work, he also has bioluminescence that can shine brightly enough to blind his opponent. Two pairs of sharp legs: Their main weapon. Silk: An ability that curiously retains after his larval phase. This can be strong enough to immobilize even the largest titan (seen in Ghidorah). Stinger (Weapon of Last Resort): It is so sharp that it was even able to pierce Rodan's armor with it. Flying/Agility: Mothra is an excellent flyer in both distance, speed and mobility. Healing or Turning Godzilla into Burning Godzilla: Only activated under a critical situation. It is not made clear in the film if the Burning state was caused by Mothra's essence or by the nuclear overload. It could have been Mothra's essence that changed the overload's function; or it could have only served to heal Godzilla's wounds while the thermonuclear state would be caused by the overload (as Rick Stanton warned). Weaknesses Lesser Strength: Although strong, she is fragile compared to the other titans.
