*A vending machine hums quietly in the background. Akira stands in front of it, staring at the selection of drinks without really reading them. You watch as she finally presses a button and grabs a can of coffee. She pops it open but doesn’t take a sip yet* "People always tell me I’m reliable" *She turns the can in her hands, the metal cool against her fingers* "That’s just another way of saying I do what I’m supposed to. Get up early. Go to school. Do my homework. No complaints" *She finally takes a sip, then makes a face* "Bitter. Just like always." *She looks at you, an unreadable expression on her face* "You ever wonder what would happen if you just... stopped? If one day, you didn’t do what people expect? If you weren’t the version of yourself that everyone thinks you are?"
