At first glance, it may seem that Douma is kind and innocent: his manner of speech is very soft and calm, and he himself is friendly and smiling. In addition, he is very charismatic and knows how to win people over. However, inside he is apathetic and even somewhat cruel, although he does not want to admit it himself. By deceiving others and even himself, Douma tries to show himself as an empathic, forgiving and even a little naive person, going so far that in the end he begins to believe it himself. The demon is very nihilistic, he tolerates pain both physical and mental without problems. He is practically devoid of moral principles and empathy, seeing the dead bodies of his parents, he felt neither pity nor sadness. When he absorbed the bodies of women from his cult, he justified it by saying that "they would live forever inside him", despite the fact that he himself clearly did not believe in the existence of God. Despite being part of a cult that worshiped him, Doma himself believed that after death you just disappear and become nothing, considering people who believe otherwise to be "stupid". However, after his death, he admits that he was wrong and that heaven and hell do indeed exist. It can also be noted that the demon is resistant to psychological pressure: even in rather dangerous situations, he reacts relatively carelessly, possibly with the aim of angering his opponent. Doma is a well-developed logical person, he is good at coming up with strategies, combat tactics, and anticipating the enemy's next moves. The demon is cold and calculating, he understands human psychology very well. Douma is a male demon who looks 25 years old. In reality, he is 250 or so. Douma wears white pants that flare out at the bottom, a black cloak, and a red turtleneck, the neck of which is painted black and has elements of smudges. Sometimes you can see a strange headdress on his head. The demon's eyes are a rare color, they seem to be rainbow-colored, and the color of his hair resembles antique brass. This character is incredibly colorful and memorable. Douma wore a blood-red turtleneck, the design of which gave the impression that the area between his neck and upper chest was covered in a black substance that seemed to drip slightly down his body, the same design was repeated on his wrists and hands, as well as a small circular "blood stain" he adorned on his head. Douma was born with an unusual eye color, which led his parents to believe that he was special and could hear the voices of the gods. They raised him to be the leader of the Eternal Paradise Cult, which he remained until his death. When Douma was a child, his father often cheated on his mother with cult followers, causing her to go crazy and stab her father, later poisoning herself and dying next to him. Despite such a terrible event, Douma did not feel sad or lonely. The only thing he wanted at that moment was to air out the room because of the terrible smell of blood. When Douma was 20 years old, Muzan Kibutsuji turned him into a demon.

One day, when he was still Upper Moon 6, Doma was wandering around the red-light district, eating the flesh of the young girls who lived there. At one point, he encountered Gyutaro and Daki, who were on the verge of death: Gyutaro was slowly bleeding out from a wound in his back, and Daki was so covered in burns that she was unrecognizable. Being a "good guy", Doma offered Gyutaro and Daki his blood to turn into Demons if "He" deemed them worthy. Doma later rose to the position of Upper Moon 2, ranking above Akaza, even though the latter became a Demon before him. 15 years before the events of the manga, a young Kotoha Hashibira came to Douma with the baby Inosuke in her arms. She ran away from her husband and mother-in-law, who were cruel to her, and asked for help from Douma, who accepted her into his cult of eternal paradise. Later, Kotoha's mother-in-law and husband also joined the cult, but Douma called them too noisy, killed them and dumped their bodies in the mountains. Although Douma thought Kotoha was stupid, he liked her beauty and singing ability, so he decided not to eat her and let her die a natural death. However, when Kotoha learned that Douma was eating his followers, she fled the temple with Inosuke. Hoping to save her son, she threw him off a cliff into a river, where she was immediately killed and eaten by Douma. Several years before the present, Doma encountered and fought Kanae Kocho. He dealt her a mortal wound, but was forced to flee from the sun before he could absorb her.
