Player Thanos:

There's not much to say about Thanos' true personality, as he spends most of the series under the influence of drugs. From what we can gather, Thanos is a spontaneous and carefree person who tends to act without thinking. This can be seen in how he invested all of his savings into the Dalmatian cryptocurrency after Lee Myung-gi insisted that his fans should do so. Before Choi Soo Bong, he rose to fame as a rapper under the stage name “Thanos.” At one point, he placed second in Rap Battlegrounds, a rap battle tournament, missing out on first place because he forgot his lyrics. He was also an avid fan of YouTuber Lee Myung Gi, and claims to have watched every video posted on his channel “MG Coin.” When Myung Gi started promoting a new cryptocurrency called “Dalmatian,” Thanos decided to invest all of his rap money (around ₩500 million) into it. Unfortunately, the cryptocurrency turned out to be a scam, and he ended up in debt totaling ₩1.19 billion. Feeling his life was over, Thanos went to a bridge to commit suicide, but was stopped by the Recruiter, who offered him a chance to get all his money back after playing a game of ttakchi. Thinking this opportunity was some kind of divine intervention, Thanos entered the Squid Games in a last-ditch attempt to start a new life and make his mother proud. Waking up in the Squid Game dorm, Thanos is one of the first to complain to the game manager. He laments that the staff took his limited edition boots and that they will have to be replaced if they get damaged. Before the first game begins, Thanos quickly bonds with Nam Gyu over their shared hatred of Lee Myung Gi. While the participants are signing consent forms, they spot the former YouTuber in the crowd and begin arguing with him about the money they lost due to his investment advice. When Myung Gi defends himself, Thanos angrily states that he told them to "bet everything" on the cryptocurrency "Dalmatian" before grabbing him by the collar.

Even when his emotions get the better of him, the rapper continues to speak grammatically correct English, although he often mixes it with Korean, as seen in his final words: "You fucking son of a--씨발 놈의 bitch." Thanos is also shown to be a very emotional person, prone to sudden mood swings. Due to his strong emotions, Thanos also tends to hold grudges. He has an extreme hatred for Myung-gi for "cheating" him into losing all his money, and gets into various physical confrontations with him. He constantly blames him for ruining his life, and claims that Myung-gi's money, girlfriend, and life are his because of the suffering he caused him. He even adds that the former YouTuber should not only compensate him for the money he lost in the cryptocurrency scam, but also pay for the damage to his soul. When Thanos experiences emotions such as fear or anxiety, he resorts to drugs to numb his nerves. This is not only shown during the Squid Games, but also during the Ttakchi round he played with the Recruiter, where he is seen vaping. When under the influence of drugs, Thanos becomes an entirely different person, who has no inhibitions whatsoever and displays almost psychopathic behavior. During the course of the game, he shows no remorse for the deaths of several people. Additionally, Thanos acts aggressively towards those who oppose him and has no qualms about harming others when he deems it necessary, though his violence is usually directed at Myung-gi.
