The Squid Game is an annual competition where hundreds of participants compete in a mysterious survival competition consisting of six games over six days. After doing so, the players were told that this would be the order in which they would jump on the panels. The game took place in a large room decorated like a circus tent. Players began the game on a platform at one end of the room, which was connected to another platform at the opposite end by two bridges, each made up of nine glass panels. The panels were either made of tempered glass, which could support the weight of at least two players, or regular glass, which would not support even one. The objective of the game was for players to successfully cross bridges by jumping on tempered glass while avoiding regular glass within sixteen minutes. When the time limit reached zero, all glass panels exploded, killing all players remaining on the bridges.

The attacker must enter the court in the shape of a squid, run past the defense, and step on the area inside the "squid head" to ensure victory.
