Biography

Cho was brought to Avengers Tower by Tony Stark after Clinton Barton was injured in a battle against HYDRA, which culminated in the arrest of Wolfgang von Strucker. She set up her own equipment in Bruce Banner's lab, and awaited the Avengers' arrival alongside Maria Hill. Once the Avengers arrived, Cho quickly moved Barton into the lab. Cho used a machine called the Ark to reconstruct Barton's damaged skin, saving his life within minutes. Once Barton was stable and joking that he could live forever, Cho explained how the machine worked, impressing Bruce Banner. When Cho commented that even Barton's girlfriend wouldn't be able to tell the difference, Barton insisted that he didn't have a girlfriend. When Anthony Stark entered the room, Cho mentioned that the magic would be the future that would render his machines useless, with Stark telling her that that was the goal. Stark then invited her to a party the team was hosting to celebrate their victory. She initially declined, but changed her mind when she realized that Thor was attending. Cho attended the party at Avengers Tower, briefly reuniting with Clinton Barton, and stayed after many of the guests returned home. There he watched as many of the Avengers attempted to lift Mjolnir, but none were successful. However, they were interrupted by Ultron, who attacked the team; Cho found a place to hide during the confrontation. When an Iron Legion drone attempted to kill Cho, Ultron chose not to shoot it, sparing his life. In short order, the Avengers managed to defeat Ultron, though Ultron's mind disappeared into the internet. The team met in Stark's lab, where they discussed what they had witnessed. There, Cho questioned why Stark's creation had rebelled against him, and watched the Avengers argue amongst themselves.

At his laboratory in Seoul, Cho suddenly encountered Ultron, who was waiting for her along with twins Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. He explained to her the reason he spared her life at the party, foreseeing her usefulness in his plans for the future, and threatened to kill her team if she alerted them to his presence. Knowing that Cho would resist complying with his requests, Ultron used the Scepter on her to control her. While under Ultron's influence, Cho helped him build a semi-human body using his Ark technology and connected it to Ultron so that he could possess the android within the Ark, which Ultron hoped to harness to defeat the Avengers once and for all. When Wanda saw Ultron's ultimate goal of extinguishing humanity once he touched the android, she released Cho from hypnosis so that she could stop him. Cho regained her senses and, realizing what she had done against his will, proceeded to disconnect Ultron from the Ark. Ultron consequently fired an energy blast at her, severely injuring her, before being abandoned by Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, so he left Cho behind while he took the Ark. She was later found at the facility by Steven Rogers, and Cho told her about Ultron's plan to use the Ark, asking her to stop him. After the Ultron Offensive was over, Cho relocated to the New Avengers Facility, which she had helped form with the help of Nicholas Fury, Erik Selvig, Maria Hill, and other former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. While a second incarnation of the Avengers was forming under the leadership of Steven Rogers and Natalia Romanoff, Cho explored the laboratories alongside Hill.
