Buffy Summers

Buffy Anne Summers[17][2] was a Slayer activated in the late 20th century. Born on January 19, 1981,[18][19] she was called to be the Slayer in 1996 at the age of fifteen.[6][20] Buffy was originally living in Los Angeles, but, due to an incident involving a vampire gang at Hemery High School,[21] she moved to Sunnydale with her mother,[17] where she served as guardian of the Hellmouth for seven years before the town's destruction in mid-2003.[22] Initially a reluctant heroine who constantly wished for nothing more than a normal life,[17] Buffy eventually grew to embrace her destiny.[23] She was unique as a Slayer in many ways;[24] she refused to sacrifice her ordinary life for her supernatural destiny,[25] often operated as part of a team with her friends the Scooby Gang,[26] and had romantic relationships with the notorious vampires Angel[27] and Spike.[28] Buffy was one of the longest-lived Slayers, having returned from death twice[23][29] and coexisted with the next two Slayers,[30][7] an act that disrupted magic around the line.[31] During the war with the First Evil, Buffy enacted a plan to activate multiple Potential Slayers across the world, abolishing the traditional Chosen line and closing the Hellmouth.[22] She then dedicated herself to gathering and training the ever-growing number of Slayers with the Slayer Organization, who became persecuted[32] when the supernatural became public knowledge. After rejecting her prophesied place in the Twilight Dimension,[34] a reward for changing the balance of power in the world,[35] Buffy prevented it from overriding and destroying Earth when it brought about the end of magic.[36] She then settled in San Francisco, where she continued her Slayer duties. [37] Buffy eventually restored magic to Earth,[38] taking responsibility for its new rules with the book.
