The story follows the life of Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), the latest in a line of young women known as Slayers. Slayers are chosen by fate to battle vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness. Like previous Slayers, Buffy is supported by a Council of Watchers, who guide, teach, and guide her. Unlike her predecessors, Buffy has a loyal circle of friends, who become known as the "Scooby Gang". Buffy Anne Summers discovered, when she was still a teenager, that she was not an ordinary girl. Buffy is one of those chosen to fight against evil, strong and brave, who has a destiny to fulfill: to protect the world from monsters. So, after being trained by her Guardian, Giles, she will alternate her life between killing vampires and demons and enjoying her life in Sunnydale, a city that is home to the Hellmouth, where the worst possible beings come out. Buffy also counts on the help of her friends Xander and Willow. Born in January 1981 in Los Angeles, the only daughter of Hank and Joyce Summers, Buffy discovered she was a Vampire Slayer when Guardian Merrick (in the film Buffy - The Vampire Slayer) introduced himself to her and revealed her destiny as the Chosen One. And it didn't take long for Buffy to realize that her life had truly changed and the burden would not be easy to carry: right after her first great victory against the vampires, the gymnasium of her school (Hemery High) was burned to the ground. The problems caused by her daughter ended up resulting in Hank and Joyce's divorce and, since then, Buffy has had little or no contact with her father. After the separation, Joyce moves with her daughter to Sunnydale, California, to a beautiful and spacious house at 1630 Revello Drive, and Buffy goes to Sunnydale High, where she meets her best friends, Willow and Xander, and is introduced to her second Guardian, the Englishman Rupert Giles.
